Can you dye shock towers easily

Post by pumpkinfish »

I'm doing a restoration right now and would like black towers. Can I dye the fiberglass shock towers with Rit dye easily or should I just source black towers? If I can dye, how long should they be in the boiling dye water?

You can dye them, just need to leave them simmering in dye until they are black. Takes a lot longer than the plastic parts.

Just to report back, I kept the towers in for about 2 hours and they look good.

I've dyed them in the past, and as stated above, it will take really well, it just needs more time.
