Associated Monster GT e conversion

Post by sschering »

I decided to rebuild my kids 1/6th Newbright Hummer into something a little less boring..

What better way to start than by throwing out everything but the body shell sliding a Monster GT chassis under it.

This is the we are with the chassis..

I took a Monster GT roller and mounted all it's components on a Rival frame to get the wheel base out to 15.5"
Mounts were made from HDPE for the Ofna LX2e center diff, motor and battery packs.
A Traxxas EVX-2 ESC and Dewalt 820 motor from Kershaw rounded out the project.

This is the first run with the 820 motor in it on 16.8v

Now I just need to build the body mounts.

Runs pretty good and your son looks to be a pretty good driver.

No kidding! He is a darn good driver. Truck is almost as big as he is.

I'm even more impressed at how well it moves out. Nice conversion!
