Gold pan into a racer...please help with parts ideas
I have one mint gold pan , 6 gear, not sure of the stamp, that I would like to keep clean and on the shelf, but I just got a runner gold pan, and started filling the shocks up and cleaning it. I would like to upgrade the wheels and tires, a-arms, maybe even the shocks.
Can you guys tell me how you find out what parts will fit on these old buggies? I found some bodies on Tower, but that is about it. I remember reading how you could get parts off of Tower but they would be "black". I don't care about the color, I just want fresh new parts that can take a beating. I would like to race it in Scottsdale, AZ for fun with this old girl. Thanks for your help!
Ryan.

tower has the RPM arms, front/rear, they take a beating, when on the tower site, i usually type RC10, then hit the link for...others also bought these....and browse.
there are a few threads about "modernizing" the old cars for current racing.

I thought I would not be able to drive my RC-10 due to the lack of idler gears. I guess I was wrong

Easiest way to find parts on tower is to plug the associated part # in the search. Type in rc10 in the search and it doesn't get much.
You will have to convert the 1/4 rear axles to the 3/16 if you want to run 2.2 b2/3 rear wheels. B4 wheels on rear have the wrong offset. You can run the B4 fronts though. That is if you want to run new rubber.

If you have a local hobby shop you should buy through them, especially if they have the track you plan on racing on. Tower should be a last resort for those without access to a local hobby shop, IMHO...

Definitely go to your LHS if you have one. The LHS I work at has tons of parts for the original RC10 as well as the DS. I built one 90% complete out of NIP parts. with the exception of the tub and gearbox case its all new. Ignore the Kyosho rear shocks, I also know the fronts are not period correct. See readers rides for the pics. Here's one pic, don't drool too much over the ASC 6163 sprinter body.
