Was the STEALTH transmission around before 1990??

Hi guys,I always thought the stealth was commercialy available prior to 1990. Was I wrong or was it released before then?

it was "introduced" in 1990 i believe, then became available in early 1991.

Thankyou MD,I was sure they were around before that but Im relatively new to AE stuff.I would have the thought the CE gold pan was around before 90 but I must have been mistaken.
By the way how are those roll cages comes along?

coming along.. waiting for some stuff to get going... finishing mine in the meantime.. just going to my shop now to use a vinyl cutter to cut some logos and graphics for my hood plate

They had the stealth before 90 - cause it was aleady available to drivers at the 89 worlds.

Also the CE gold chassis was available as bushing kit - pretty sure that was before 90 as well?

I am sure temple or scrp8 could happily educate us here too.

The first RC10 that came equipped with the Stealth Transmission was the RC10 Team Car. This car was released in early/mid 1991.

The CE was only ever a bushing kit and although it was released in 1990 it didn't get a stealth until 1992, a year after the Team Cars were on sale. If you wanted bearings in the kit in 1990 it was a 6030 graphite or a leftover 6016/6020.

I was the first order for the retrofit kit (the stand alone tranny that came by itself with the jig to drill your chassis) at my LHS and that was in the winter of 1990.
