When Tamiya is re-re-re'ing re-re's, you know something's just not right

Re: 2017 Top Force???
Great news!!
Hopefully means will be able to get J parts and the chassis posts for less $$
I think these could also make great vintage races, as they were used a lot by the UK Tamiya drivers back in early 90s without being too heavily modified., and they can use a lot of TA01/02/03 parts that are still widely available.
I may pick one up of the price is right
Good move Tamiya!

Re: 2017 Top Force???
The Top Force is a great car. Keeping this and the Egress in re-re mode will hopefully help increase the Tamiya 4wd presence in vintage races, as those were their two best vintage 4wd chassis, IMO. I ran a Dirt Thrasher at VONATS last year in the Classic class. It's basically an all plastic version of the Top Force, and it was awesome. All I did was add ball diffs and an aluminum motor mount. With a mere Sport Tuned motor, it was putting down lap times that would have made it competitive in the full-blown 4wd class.
If we consider that they are re-re-reing the Avante in Japan only this year, it would appear to me that they may be on a 5-10 year re-re cycle, depending on the model. I don't see a problem with that, if it keeps the money flowing. If they keep it out forever, sales volume shrinks over time. But if they spike the market every few years with another re-re of the same chassis, that can keep people coming back...I hope. These older models seem to generate more attention than their newer stuff anyway.
These are great chassis for kids to get started with, and for parents to share their childhood r/c experience with their kids. Having just had a baby boy myself, I'd love to pick up an extra Top Force and share the build experience with him when he gets older. I'd much rather do that than pick up something newer, like a DF03, which is not as timeless.

Re: 2017 Top Force???
I love it! The Top Force has been on the wish list for a long time... The Dyna Storm needs its pal on the shelf!
I wonder if this has been in the plan for a long time, or if it's a response to the Optima and upcoming Cat rere's. It's a relatively cheap move on Tamiya's part, and keeps them competitive in the vintage 4WD market. It can compete directly against Cats and Optimas, and won't be as expensive as the Egress.
Although, I'm curious why they're choosing a rere-rere of the standard Top Force instead of the TF Evo...? Or maybe this is a ramp up to a rere Evo?

Re: 2017 Top Force???
I'd love to see a re-re Evo. Originals are a little too rare and expensive.
Now we just need Yokomo to re-release the YZ10
