Top Force racer build
Ive got a big uk vintage race coming up in Jan 2019 and needed a 4wd
Was looking around at various options, zxr, cat 2000 and the top force
My main want was spares availability so went with the top force
Swapped my cougar 2 for this original car and I’m in the process of rebuilding it
Here is the original car

Re: Top Force racer build
Front gearbox stripped down, the cars got gear diffs which is a result and a one way lay shaft
Quick clean and thick anti wear grease put into the diffs

Re: Top Force racer build
Front gearbox back on the chassis and blue alloy nuts added for the bling factor!
All the chassis edges/shock towers have been sanded and black marker pen applied

Re: Top Force racer build
Front tower and shocks on, the shocks are TRF small bore off my 511 and yokomo B.B. springs
I’ve got a proper shock tower coming for the shorter front shocks

Re: Top Force racer build
Bought a new rear gearbox case as the original was cracked, tapped the holes out to m3 and used nuts to bolt down the gear cover as read this is a weak spot

Re: Top Force racer build
Was searching on line for a Lipo holder for the shorty and came across this from a Mardave assassin pan car, £10 it was worth a shot!
20 mins later and a few holes drilled/Cs and job done!

Re: Top Force racer build
So my new carbon lower front tower arrived today from a guy on the top force Facebook group
This tower is for the shorter modern style shocks
Also trimmed down the Lipo cradle as it had an extra hole that wasn’t being used

Re: Top Force racer build
That's a neat build. It's seeing this type of tamiyas that makes me consider buying one again, even after I swore never to get another after my first car: the boomerang... I think I'd opt for the dark impact, but that's not truely vintage yet now is it?
I like the Mardave holder too: will have to see if I can get a hold of one, or maybe make my own version. Does the O-ring hold both low CG and standard height packs?
