834b build
So this is my first Yokomo build. Got a 7 cell chassis on the way from Jeff! Need to find some proper rear shocks instead of the frog shocks.

Looks like its had some use. This should be a satisfying thread watching you rebuild it.

Re: 834b build
The Delta rollbar (Desert Dog) doesn't bolt right up to the 7 cell chassis, there is a special chassis for that application. Not saying it won't be adaptable just not the norm.

Re: 834b build
So would i be better off switching to a different rollbar then for this chassis or would i need other parts as well?

Re: 834b build
The 7 cell chassis was meant to be used with the RPS or Hot Trick rolll bar and you'll need the 834B rear mounts. Once you've got that then you can still get the original or Delta rear shocks. I have some of that stuff if your interested but that's not why I pointed this out, just trying to help you go down the right path. There were several different models of the 834b that can get confusing if mixing parts up but it's not that big a deal, you'll get going.

Re: 834b build
The gold anodised front lower arms are a very popular period thing , they appear in the box art but it's debatable how many kits ever had them , are you looking for a runner , a retro race look or a shelf Queen ?
Personally I'd be using the Delta rear suspension over the RPS roll hoop but it's all personal taste , I also noticed in another thread that you were looking at replacing the top deck/chain guide with an alloy upgrade version with a spring tensioner , those stock top decks are rocking horse manure to find ! If you ever plan on selling it please PM me but you'd keep more value in the car if you kept it .
Another period racing mod would be to replace the front top arms with with double turn buckles for camber adjustment .Twin front shocks are also popular .

If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Re: 834b build
Parts cleaned up very well! Just waiting on bearings and a couple other items to start. Need to rebuild diff and cleanup the delta slipper assembly.
