Oh for those wondering, the paint job was inspired by a November 1992 RC Car Action about Dudgeon gas RC10T’s (pg 48), I am using an iPad and can’t figure out to get a screenshot on here (screenshots too large) but I’ll try to get it posted later.

If you look, you will notice that the GT uses different holes to attach the nose plate. The spacing is different.

The DS uses the standard RC10 pattern, which is why your nose plate is mounted like a 10T.

Thank you kindly sir! That is the one, love the lines and colors on it. One day I’ll have to put a bit more effort/time in and do it more justice on a brand new repo body as opposed to some beat up used one....perhaps on the next project lol

Looking pretty good, the white arms are a great touch and I like the color choice.

Are you stil going to run it?

I am sooo torn at this point with it...the thought of ripping it around the backyard and thrashing it now when it is closer to a half decent original looking GT with all the white bits. I was thinking of perhaps just replacing the body with a repo, grabbing some correct rims, take the white off the tires and just finish it off properly (I already have a designated GT shelf queen that just needs a body painted) what to do, what to do

Don't be torn about what to do with it. It's a nice truck.

Just do like me. I just bought another one on Ebay today. Like I really needed another project.

I thought this thread deserved a resurrection of sorts (and also a gentle reminder to myself to give completing a project, one project another shot lol).

So my box art RC10GT went to a great and loving home and it warmed my raisin heart at how excited the new owner was to get his hands on it; making the process of letting it go so much easier (I am not very good at letting projects go lol)

The rebuilt GT/eGT parts truck that the majority of this thread was based upon was sold to free up funds for another Yokomo project I had on the go at the time…..HOWEVER of course another GT was posted to the bay with a BIN price I could not pass up. Sooooo here is another GT I am going to attempt to save.

Would you have any interest in parting ways with that Kyosho fuel tank?

One of my favourite parts of the process, complete tear down before bath time in various liquids lol

Started off with a soap and water bath and scrub with a toothbrush for the chassis and nose plate. Not sure if you can see it in the pre disassemble pics, there was a layer of foam padding under the gas tank; where it must have soaked up a lot of nitro fuel hence the discolouration. I am a little torn but decided to keep this as a restoration instead of a as close to mint rebuild.

While I scrub and peroxide bathe a lot of the main white parts, thought I would start with rebuilding what I could for the time being. Started with the steering assembly, ditched the one piece rpm link and found a missing piece. There was no lower bushing on the steering and have you ever had one of those ‘I definitely have one of those somewhere….’ moments but don’t know where exactly and tear your bins apart for hours looking under every….you get the point lol. Well I found it and it felt pretty darn good…even if no one will ever see it. :)
