So I'm playing around with a boomerang at the moment and have never been happy with the crappy battery pin set up.
Had some 4mm od carbon tube and decided to see how I could improve it.
Realized pretty quickly a small lathe would of been perferred but made do with a decent drill press vice and patience.
Took a M3 knurled nut and drilled it 3/4 through at 5mm, then tapped this to M6 using a bottom tap.
Separately I ran a 4.1mm drill (after a 1/8" pilot drill) through the center of the M6 stainless cap screw.
Then cut this off once seated in the knurled nut.
Tapped out the center of the carbon to M3
Screwed the assembly together and then cut to length.
Finally had to commit to tapping the chassis hole to M6 and fits up nicely.
Will be putting a small rubber o ring over the M6 so the thumb screw seats nicely soon.
Bit rough without some decent tooling but you get the idea.
hope this helps someone.
