Re-Re 870c Slipper and layshaft on vintage chassis

Post by Alex B »

As per my last post concerning the fitment of th re-re motor mount. I just got in all the parts to check for fitment of the re-re 870c slipper on an original 870c, works etc. As you can see from the photographs below it works and the fitment appears to be fine (not run it yet tho) although the rear belt seemed a little tighter than the stock setup - but this can be adjusted out with a slotted motor mount chassis. The cost in the UK for the parts is around £60 so not cheap but a good alternative to the £100 FAN RC reproduction one and the pulleys are cheap to replace when they start to wear.

See also the photo for the parts that you will need.
