rear hub conversion

Post by BTracer »

I was wondering what the best way to convert to a hex style hub would be. I came up with this. It's a hub off of an HPI super nitro. The only thing is that you have to bore out the hinge pin hole to accept the associated hinge pins. It even takes the stock RC10 dogbone perfectly, though I used the HPI one in the pic. Please feel free to suggest any better ways to do this conversion.

easiest way would be to get the hpi super star rear wheel adapter kit. it comes with the proper adapter to use on the rc10 1/4" axles.

i know JK Racing uses those adapters, along with i think ofna rims to use 2.2 tires. i think they're from a 12th scale truggy, or something like that.

maybe JK can confirm that.

Confirmed....

HPI adaptors and OFNA CRT .5 2.2 rear rims, makes the rear end the same width as todays cars (eyeball measureing against my RB5 this past racing weekend.)

Touring car wheels should work with no issues either. Check your backspacing and axle hole sizing though.

And which wheels fit the RC10 using those adapters.

standard rc10 axle and DS axles are the same, I would imagine, so in essence...yes, should work.

Maybe Ive oversimplified your situation in my mind, but Ive just drilled out the Holes in the Hexes for some Cars, when the Axle was too big for the Hex I had handy.
