New member's parts for next project

Post by RcMonk »

Been a lurker for almost a year now and finally have some time to get back to wrenching my RC10. As far as background, I picked up my first RC10 CE back in 1992 and still have it today. It's bone stock and has been run a few times but mostly its a shelfer. In the last couple of months I have been slowly accumulating parts to build a runner RC10. So far I have the chassis, a few nose plates, rear bulkhead, towers, and suspension parts. I have seen lots of RPM World's cars here that have black chassis and thought I might go a different route. I am partial to the gold tub cars so I might try to build a RPM Worlds (or replica) car that utilizes a gold tub. First thing I did was anodize a spare truck nose plate to match the chassis color as closely as I could. I guess my next step will be to locate some RPM Worlds front arms or maybe get the Dynotech ones that I have seen here. Here's a pic of what I have to start.

It could VERY easily just be me, but Im confused. Are you building a RC10 (Buggy), or a RC10T (Truck). I only ask because you said you're building a RC10, but made a Gold 10T Nose Plate, have a 10T Rear Tower and 10 Front Tower, etc.

Good job on the Anodizing though, for sure.

the RC10 worlds suspension set up uses a 10T nose plate...

love the plate though...did you do it or have a company do it for you?

Well "shut my mouth", I had no idea  ...like I said, "VERY easily just be ME". Guess I should pay closer attention to the Board. :)

Thanks...I anodized the nose plate myself. It wasn't too bad since its such a small part, still surprised at way it turned out.

Received some new bits today to continue with the project. Still waiting for my white RPM 2.65 gearbox to arrive. Just wished I had a white truck front bulkhead, the black one looks out of place. Off to fleabay......

so, are you planning on running b4 cvd's and rims on the back? if not, your gonna need to find a pair of worlds rear arm mounts, and modify the chassis.

Looks like a great start to your project! What exactly is the shock tower in the upper left. I thought it was for an RC10T, but when I search for them on ebay it doesn't look like that. I'm wondering how I get my hands on one (preferably graphite, but would take glass).

i will use the b4 cvd's since the worlds arm mounts will probably cost me an arm and a leg.

the shock tower on the upper left is just a regular RC10T tower. previous owner drilled some extra holes on them that's all. try sheldon's if you are looking for one.

Interested in Front/Rear RPM bulkheads? The rear is buggy, the front is truck. Mounted, but never run, see them here...second post up front the bottom, I replaced both with black AE parts
