RC10 Body Compatibility

Post by maxxdout »

Hey,

I am going to be doing a Monster Energy themed paint job for my B4 soon and found some nice bodies on Tower Hobbies. These bodies, however, are made for the original RC10(I think). Will they fit, with little or no modifications, on my B4? Here are the links to them:

Pro buggy body: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LX2697&P=ML

Viper buggy body: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LX2708&P=M

Thanks for your help,

maxx :D

i can't say i've seen anyone do it on the forum, but it doesn't mean it can't be done. all you can do is buy one and start trimming. if it doesn't work, you won't be out a ton of money.

Got an email from Associated...

"These bodies are for the older RC10’s but will not work on the new B4."
Bill Martinez, Customer Support Specialist

That still doesn't mean I can't try it ;) I'll let you guys know how it goes :D

i dont see how you couldnt mod a 1st gen body to a b4.

from my experience the newer bodies are usually too small to fit the old tub, so by that reasoning there should be more than enough room to do the opposite.

Yea, that's what I was thinking. I researched the dimensions on the older bodies and the newer B4 bodies and the older ones are a little longer and a little wider. I personally think it will look a little cooler with a wider body 8)

Proline Cavalieri Crowd Pleazer: L: 12"; W: 5 1/2"; H: 3 1/2"
RC10 Viper Body: L: 14 3/4"; W at middle: 6"; W at front: 2"; H: 3 1/2"
RC10 Pro Buggy Body: L: 14 3/4"; W: 5 3/4"; H: 3 3/4"

So the main thing here is the width, which on the rc10 bodies, is wider than the B4 body. Either way, I am definitely going to try it; I love the old, realistic look of the rc10 buggy bodies
