Ok I just gotta throw this out there....
Ok, obviously this forum is called RC10Talk.
I found this because of Losi and Losi recommendations. I did not find it through searching the net.
Now, I am not one to step on feet but this forum should be named something more conducive to vintage - all encompassing - RC.
I am wondering if this forum can be named "Vintage RC Talk.com". Or something of the like.
If you provide a name such as this than the people searching for Traxxas or Kyosho or Losi will be drawn more to a name like that. Not saying RC10Talk is bad, but it appears that there are a lot more non-RC10 enthusiasts on here. Yes, I am a newb here, but I can say that I love this place already. No other forum exists like this one on the net. Also as they grow forums become more and more word of mouth through other forums. This would be a great way to attract other vintage enthusiasts by having a name associated to all vintage.
Just an idea?!?!?!
Flame on or support?
Jon
Edit - I also have to say that what I am recommending is a pain and I know this. I work for a company that hosts domains and email through vps servers and whatnot. So I know that all of the time spent is important. Even the design and logo and everything matters. I completely understand all of this. Again, I hope I am not stepping over my bounds. I am just for constructive ideas.

Re: Ok I just gotta throw this out there....
But if we changed the name, then we'd have to let those pesky Traxxas drivers in here too!
RC10Talk was the brain child of the RC10 lovers who populated the Clodtalk (monster truck forum ) sister site. Initially it was all RC10, all the time, though as word has gotten out more diversity has come. These guys know a fair bit about all brands, so if you've got a favorite speak up and chat about it (just no Traxxas!

Re: Ok I just gotta throw this out there....
I prefer to keep it RC10talk, I personally don't care about the kyosho, traxxas, etc etc...
Re: Ok I just gotta throw this out there....
Great, now I am gonna be banned, lol. Really I am not trying to cause a riff here. I was just thinking. Seems that there is a foundation for more than Associated. I completely understand though.

The three of you would get bored at LosiTalk.com.....

The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

Save the name. I love that there are all kinds of vintage brands here, but it should still be RC10Talk.com.

I like the name. But I am glad that everyone here likes the Losis, Kyoshos and Yokes. Hey, what do you know...a place to share knowledge!

Re: Ok I just gotta throw this out there....

More then a few companies were FOUNDED by people that were trying to whoop the RC10.
...........................................................................
Has anyone noticed that even AE still uses http://www.rc10.com as a website link? its not rc10b or b2 or b4 or b12222, NO!
its http://www.rc10.com
FOR A REASON.
Leave it alone, thats how most of us found this place!!!
Re: Ok I just gotta throw this out there....
I agree with you all - I really do. It was just an idea to be the first "Vintage" all encompassing site. I understand that the 10 was the beginning. At least I wasn't banned, lol.
Thanks on the comment about the axial. Well, the only thin axial on it is the axles and tranny, lol. It is a monster and will literally crawl up an almost vertical wall. That is when it gets traction of course. I highly encourage anyone who might be into trucks to get into rock crawling. It is more of a rush than any other form of RC I have even been involved in. Then when you get bit by that bug you can look in the Scale builds thread and start wasting even more money on one of those. I have like 4 projects going on right now.
Oh, and another thing. Rock crawling is the biggest form of RC right now. There is more support and products coming out lately than any other form and it can be proven. I don't need to though as it is evident. They just had the nationals in Moab a few weeks back and it was HUGE! I mean HUGE!!! People from Japan came over even. We have comps here every month or so to qualify for Nats. Look into it guys - it is a hell of a good time.
Ok, rant is over. lol
Edit - I forgot to remark on the Axial. Yes, it is the best built crawler available. Before it came out last year people built them out of Clods or TLT's. The Scorpion has exploded the scene. I have seen near stock Scorpions take wins. Even when people like me have spent thousands on their rigs. But, you haven't seen anything until you lock your rearend up on an off camber dig. These things are amazing.
I was gonna suggest that there as well but never posted as I like this place better - more activity.badhoopty wrote:i kinda hear ya on the name, but i also like what it is now.

We're working on that ...Doc J33P wrote: At least I wasn't banned, lol.

Names don't really mean all that much, it's reputation. The "Talk" family has always been the friendliest group around, with plenty of knowledge and help when needed, be it RC related or just plain old moral support. We set a high standard at the inception of Clodtalk and it's been carried over here at 10Talk. They are the only RC forums I go to or participate on because of this environment.
