New built YR-4 special with Alfa 155 Martini Body
Hi all,
this is my newest build: a Yokomo YR-4 special right out of it's sealed box ! I combined it with a quite rare Tamiya Alfa 155 Martini body as these are in 180mm width. I equipped it with a Keil PS Servo and will add full electronics soon. More pics will follow !
Cheers

You should! It is not worth much because of little demand, but really is still a very nice runner for spec class. I have lots of fun with mine especially now it's got toe-in on the rear.marui hunter 73 wrote:looks unreal think ill build mine now

Hey Hunter, no you shouldn't - please sell it to me ! As Mr. ED says they are not much worth now, and matching bodies are nearly impossible to find..

Re: New built YR-4 special with Alfa 155 Martini Body
interested in the body! Do you have pics in the post? I'd also be interested in a CF YR-4 II Chassis if available around in japanes hobby shops Still looking for mx-4 body sets though ...
EP TC's are 190mm now. These Tamiya bodies sometimes retail for 170$ plus...

Are you going to run this car or shelf it? I ran the regular yr4 when they first came out and we had to dremel a little out of the bottom of the bulkheads to let little pebbles out, I chewed up a few diff pulley before we figured this out

Aaaaahhhh crap! I'm about to get passed by that orange truck!

i was lucky to get it for less, but prices are crazy on the rare tamiya stuff. If you can get hold of some in your area i'd of course be interested.Mr. ED wrote:ouhm . it looks like the mods decided 5 pages of BST is enough: all old posts seem to be gone?

i'll run it definitely. The special chassis actually already has these holes in the bulkhead area.markt311 wrote:Are you going to run this car or shelf it? Re: New built YR-4 special with Alfa 155 Martini Body
I'm running mine with a modern 190mm body, the wheels sit a little inside but I like that: makes them rub less easily with the body while cornering.marui hunter 73 wrote:mine is getting built now what bodies fit them then some special required ha
It allows to sit the body a few mili's lower too.
Since the hubs are standard 12 mm hex, you could easily find larger offset wheels to compensate for the narrower wheelbase too.

Hunter - you need hex adapters for the yr-4 special because it still has the wheel pins.Mr. ED wrote:I'm running mine with a modern 190mm body, the wheels sit a little inside but I like that: makes them rub less easily with the body while cornering.marui hunter 73 wrote:mine is getting built now what bodies fit them then some special required ha

Re: New built YR-4 special with Alfa 155 Martini Body
oops that's right, the standard model with the foam tires has similar rims.
Buy some alumium clamp hexes: it's really so much more fun not having to worry about the pin falling out of the hex everytime you take a wheel off. I also find it helps reduce wobble of the wheels.
These hexes come at all kinds of prices, so look around a bit.
