Wheel ID help, please!

Post by Brandon G »

I have this set of wheels, See's Kyosho Rear Truck wheels with directional spokes Model No. 3415

Measurements:
Axle hole is 5mm stepped down to 4mm
Diameter where you glue the tire: 65.5mm
Diameter of outside lip: 74mm
Width: 57mm

Anybody have an idea what this fits? Since it specifies rear, I am assuming it is for a 2wd truck. Does anyone know if it could be used on any of their 4wd trucks?

Thanks fellers.

Most Kyosho cars/trucks use the hex drives. It's possible these will fit the 1/9 scale Kyosho trucks as I don't think they use a hex on the wheels. I could be wrong though.

Try some RS4 rear axles: should be a straight fit.
You could use these on optima, mid, lazer, baboon ;)

But much wilder: M-chassis!
Maybe wild-willy too...

OK, i'll be the retard and answer my own question. At least for scr8p's benefit!
Got to digging last night, and it seems these will fit the following:

Big Brute
Hi Rider Vette
Double Dare
Big Boss
USA-1 electric axles I think), but tires for the USA-1 are much wider than these wheels allow.

Seems the Kyosho 2wd monster trucks have a front axle that uses the cross pin in it as well as the rear.

They fit the Tamiya blackfoot, lunch box, and will also fit on some of the older Traxxas like the Eagle. I have a set of 4 forsale on ebay right now.

thanks brandon.

these are definately not for tamiya. the tamiya axle is too large in diameter. i tried to put them on my pumpkin and they don't fit.

Well don't know if mine are the exact duplicate of yours, See's made many different wheel styles for alot of different rc name brand vehicles and I have not checked the diameter size on mine, but I did try these on 2 different blackfoots just to make sure that the previous owner did not modify the blackfoot that the wheels came and they fit perfect on both.

the blackfoots would have a standard 2.2 rim. these are a bit larger in both height and width. even the bead is quite wide where the tire sits. they're definately for trucks that brandon listed.

i don't remember where i got mine, but someone tried to taper the inner hub to use them on 1/4" rc10 axle. i don't know why being as though the axle is too short.

Yeah, they are definetely bigger than the 2.2" blackfoot wheel. Odd size. I guess kyosho had to go out on their own on these...

Brandon,

The Kyosho trucks you listed use a weird mounting hub similar to the hotshot where there are little nubs that fit into the wheel. They can be removed which just leaves the axle and crosspin.
