Pre-Build Worlds RC10 Questions

Post by mrlexan »

Ok, I preparation for my World's build up, these are the questions that I have come up with:

1. What color are the rear axle/bearing hubs? White or black? The manual shows the car with white, but a pic of the parts in black.
2. What color are the steering bellcranks? White or black? Again, I have seen conflicting info in the manual.
3. Do the rear tires have the Pro-line logo molded on the side wall or are they "naked"?
4. What color is the "RC10" on the body? It looks purple, but I have only seen the RC10 logo offered in pink.
5. Is there a specific reason why RC Specialities is a sponsor on the body? Are there RC Performance Specialities parts on the car? I think I am missing something here..... or did RCPS do the Mirage body?
6. I have a set of rear wheels PN: 9490Y for the B3/B2.What is the difference between these and the 6805Ys? If any.... they look the same to me.

I am missing some parts, but I think Chad is going to help me out. If he can't, I will post in the Buy/Sell/Trade Forum........... Chad, when you have a chance, email/PM me back.

Thanks guys!

Jay

Yes. RCPS was the originator of that body... then sold the mold to Premier/Twister. Associated used it with the scoop for the Worlds car.

didn't the worlds car come with rcps turnbuckles, too? i think so.

i really came help you out with the black and white issue, but the b2/b3 rims are for 3/16" axles, where the worlds car should have 1/4". i believe there is a slight offset difference, too. i could be wrong on that one. i don't have any b2/b3 wheels to do a comparison.

1. Not sure
2. White bellcrank
3. All have Proline logo
4. Pink RC10 logo
5. Body was only RCPS part in the kit
6. Must use 6805Y. 9490Y was for newer and narrower B2/B3 axle

Anybody feel free to correct me or add to this

Both the fronts and rears have Proline molded into the sidewall? I have a set of front with wording molded and also without molded "Pro-line". As for the rears, all I have is them with the name molded into them. The Associated catalog for tires and from what I can tell from the manual, they appear to be naked.

Any further help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah. They were all Proline tires in the world's kit, not associated (even though they put proline and yokomo tires in their old catalogs). The rears say "stubbie" or "flat stubbie" on them right? The tires were also in the xtr compound front and rear. I don't have part numbers, but some proline tires had them on the sidewalls as well. Hoopty's ride is perfect (and a runner?!?!). If you can't see it in your other post, maybe check his =rc10 collect= post.

Also, there is a rcca mag of some month in '94 where they did a thrash test on the world's car. I remember reading it, but at the moment I don't remember where I placed it, so if anybody else has it, scan the pages, there were lots of pics of the car in it.

Thanks for the info. Hoopty, I STILL can't see those pics. Can you email them to me. BTW, the tire PNs are 6874 (for AE) or 8015 (for Proline) on the fronts and 6824 (for AE) or 8086 (for Proline) on the rears.

Pics! Pics! Pics! Find that mag and Hoopty get off your butt!

This is what you need mrlexan :D.
B2/B3 holes are bigger. You can't use them.

Well, once I get the rear wheels from qc and thanks to skidrowe, I should just about everything I need.... I am sure that I missing something. One thing that I will build with that I know is not correct, I have the steering bell cranks in black. They'll do until I can find the white ones. Anyone have some in white? I will post in the Wanted Forum.

Thanks guys!

Jay
