Oval chassis

Post by arf »

Not too much talk around here about the RC10 on the dirt oval despite the major contribution it made to the class. This photo reminds me of the my many attempts to introduce "stagger" into the setup of my mostly stock gold tub. The nose plate pictured is offset.

Darn, I was hoping no one was paying attention to that eBay listing. :( I'm after that nose piece... 8)

That's a BME oval chassis setup, minus the offset front shock tower. I talked with the founder of BME, Bruce Mackiewicz, a couple of years ago and he was kind enough to share these photos.

That car also has the BME extended axle on the right rear.

I had one of these gold BME chassies at one point but sold it mainly because I didn't like the quality of the machining, when the kick-up was bolted you could still make it move right and left because the holes in the chassis are too large... quality of the aluminium used is not that good either...

Paul, he didn't mention there is a similar plate for sale right now on eBay and yes I also saw it

This is the first time I have ever seen one of these. But if the work is how to say shotty on the chassis, then why not make one of your own? I have a truck that has the conversion but it is nothing like these. I may have to make one to use. If ever I get mybumpers I need mine will be about ready to go.

I wouldn't mind seeing more about dedicated oval cars on this site.
