Re: My Kart Project
Yes, the relative positions of the gaps. When I upgraded to the Raptor connecting rod, it slipped my mind that the 120 degree rule also applied to the 3 piece oil ring. So the two rail rings ended up lined up, allowing blow by and oil leakage. I know for sure the oil leakage was happening, but blow ...

Re: My Kart Project
Ok an update is due. I had to open up the engine to reorient the piston rings, since I messed up the first time, so now that's fixed, everything is holding up great! The wheel bearings have been giving me issues with extreme play on the front right wheel(that side smacked into a curb once), and when...

Re: Kyosho Le Mans 05 Details
Someone on rcgroups.com says it's 30 turns, .65 wire, and turns 18K RPM.
Hope that helps!

Re: Insane Solenoid Engine Idea
True true, we'll see once I build it. Some of the better made ones can hit 3200 RPM or more, like this one, a V12!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXIl0RlTom4 Someone has made MEGA versions! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7CudQaT5lI Here's a small, very simple, and rather slow solenoid engine car...

Re: Insane Solenoid Engine Idea
I don't know. I don't have any parts to make it yet, I have to wrap up my other projects first. :( One of the big advantages I see in this design, is that I can actually adjust things with it. Want more torque? Swap out the crankshaft for one with longer stroke! Same thing for higher max RPM and suc...

Insane Solenoid Engine Idea
It's kinda of hard to classify this thread as far as which section to put it in, so I guess I'll put it here. This is where I'm getting the idea from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3Bh_N1dRjg A solenoid engine powered RC car. 8) Except I don't have a lot of fancy tools, so I'm taking a simpler ap...

Re: Any other Aquarist here?
My brother and I have both had aquariums in the past, but he was more "into it". For a while he bred mollies and sold them to the local pet store, for a while we had guppies & tetras and stuff. Most recently he had a bunch of julies. As for me, I've had a nice albino Betta, and I've al...

Re: Recently dug my gold pan out of the basement
Heh, don't leave those NiCads on the charger! My dad blew up the original battery pack for my RC10 that way!
I've since upgraded to a 6 cell 7.2V NiMH and trickle charger, and it makes me feel much safer when I leave it on for a long time!
Welcome!

Re: New Member / Old RC10
Welcome! I can't bear to race my handed-down-by-Dad RC10 for the fear of breaking the original parts, as you found out.
Nothing beats an RC10 for vintage cool!
At the track, my controller by FAR had the longest antenna!
