At least you missed the bumper
Heh, yeah. To be fair, that bumper did save it a few times. Just not that last time. ;)

Well that didn't take long, lol... team-associated-rc10t-broken-arm.jpg At least it's getting used out there and not shelfbound for eternity  Yeah, built this intending to bash it around a bit. It drives and jumps awesome, but the front arms are pretty frail if you hit anything with them. I gu...

Re: Raider Pro Resurrection

RW Racing made another batch of Raider ring gears that work with the Tamiya DT-02 ball diff kit. That along with the Optima rere universals should finally put an end to the rear-end drama. If you just want to run dog bones, the Tamiya 53218 diff cups seem to be a suitable replacement for the stock i...

That might just about give enough extra space to make it work.

Re: Associated's RC10 Classic

Showing my ignorance (most of my experience is with 1980's stuff), but the chassis is the 40th anniversary gold chassis. Battery is mounted inline, and the wires stick out the end of the battery, preventing it from fitting. It's a 2S battery.IMG_0799.JPGIMG_0798.JPG I use those same "round&quo...

Re: What are your plans with your re-release RC10T?

I pre-ordered mine, but only recently got around to building it. I have the CC and 40th as well, but I assume no one wants to see pictures of box-art RC10s. Anyway, I went with a relatively mild brushless setup (10BL60 + 3650). team-associated-rc10t-chassis.jpg In fact, the ESC wiring sort-of inspir...

Re: CV Joints for Rocky/Raider and Other Hardware Alternatives

I did away with the springs, pain in the neck. If you use a standard domestic paper hole punch it snips out perfect size circles of thin rubber, i used thin neoprene sheet, and an old mouse pad, I stopped using them as well. I still have them...somehow. I used a small o-ring with the 70mm, but I di...

Re: CV Joints for Rocky/Raider and Other Hardware Alternatives

I do run cheap, 70mm dogbones from Amazon in my Raiders (stock is 68mm). With the spring removed, they do work. I imagine it's a different story in the front of a Rocky. I'll be running the OTW125C now instead, as the seems to be the ideal fit. A CV would be nice, though I don't know if my Raiders w...

Re: CV Joints for Rocky/Raider and Other Hardware Alternatives

Great work guys! :D I also have a Raider that is not moving due to a broken dogbone. Will come back tonight and edit this post with findings. Have the following axles to compare: -Kyosho re-re 87 WC/JJ Ultima CVA's -EXO Design Ultima CVA's -Yeah Racing Optima Mid axles (KYOP-019SP) -Xtra Speed CVA'...

Re: CV Joints for Rocky/Raider and Other Hardware Alternatives

Looks like they are 61.5mm: kyosho-raider-pro-axle-uj-pin-to-pin.jpg I had a feeling that was the case. Are you using the red spacer? The stock outdrive spring? From your picture it looks like it sits in the rear pretty well. I'm curious about the front of the Rocky. The CVD combo puts the center o...

Re: CV Joints for Rocky/Raider and Other Hardware Alternatives

Has anyone noticed that "universal" swing shaft OTW125C for the rere Optima kits practically drop right into the Raider? Sorry for the cross post , but I thought it might be relevant here. kyosho-raider-pro-axle-uj-length.jpg You have to leave the red shim out, as it is slightly too thick....
