Re: Race Modified; Mardave Meteor Project
Just to update this thread/build (& to add some gratuitous photos) .... Back in January earlier this year I raced my LWB Meteor at the Brett Davis memorial race meeting. Brett Davis was a prominent & popular racer (& vintage R/C fan), but was also well known for being the creator & o...

Re: JRX Pro SE runner build
DerbyDan - I measured the retrofit dogbone pin to pin. Approx. 61.7mm. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y257/sixdub/Vintage%20RC/20170312_130503_zpscxdi6c0r.jpg Thanks for measuring those for for me - so it would appear that the XX dogbones are the correct/same length - that's good to know since I ...

Re: JRX Pro SE runner build
My next 2wd runner/racer project is also a JRX Pro SE (been saving up parts for a little while), so i'm following this build thread closely..... & taking notes! Your car looks immaculate (like new) - I'm looking forward to hearing how it performs on track! I've run my LRM gearboxed JRX2 with an ...

Re: Brushless motor gearing
I run a 6.5BL motor in my XX - from memory I'm using a 20t pinion on a green (88t) spur & too be honest I could probably go up a pinion tooth or two - on an 8.5 motor I'd be inclined to start on a 22t pinion (or equivalent depending on which spur you have) & go from there  Don't worry ...

Re: JRX-2 cheater + JRX Pro
Derby, are you running the dual ball bearing LRM Differential? I've never had one give up yet? The diff gear that I stripped was one with the centre bearing - the rest of the gearbox was standard LRM (aside from the slipper assembly & top shaft). The gear finally went after a whole year of regu...

Re: JRX-2 cheater + JRX Pro
I hadn't seen that one - cheers. Will have a read. Raced against DerbyDan at the recent Iconic RC Revival - but neither of us were using JRX-2's. Hi Kieth - I thought I recognised your pink & blue paint scheme! Your JRX2 looks great.... I'm sure you'll enjoy running the 5-link car.... I think m...

Re: Cougar MK1 restored for racing!
Thanks Retro! I know Mark well & his Cougar builds are something else - more display pieces rather than something that you'd ever want to run! This Cougar was built to race, as such is a little more rough & ready - I could have gone that next step - like done something fancy with the chassis...

Re: Race Modified; Mardave Meteor Project
Well - sorry guys I forgot this thread even existed.... but since my 'runner/racer' version of the Mardave Meteor is currently entered into this months Car of the month competition I though it best to update the story to where we are now! Up until now this thread seems to have been following the in...

Hello, can someone tell me what is this body I had with a near new RC10B4 FT ? http://nsm08.casimages.com/img/2016/08/04//16080411050817236514411398.jpg http://nsm08.casimages.com/img/2016/08/04//16080411052617236514411399.jpg This appears to be a Schumacher Fireblade EVO bodyshell - I believe Schu...

Re: Cougar MK1 restored for racing!
Nice one Naushad! :D I think you'll enjoy your Cougar... the beauty of them is that they were sold by Schumacher in so many different guises over quite a long period of time - picking up improvements & updates along the way that you can really 'cherry-pick' parts to build a Cougar to your person...

Got to say that I'm well chuffed & surprised (especially since the old Mardave Meteor isn't widely known Stateside) My vote was for Lonestar's lovely FRF2 - which a car I very much desire & his is a cracker!!

Re: Losi XXT CR Graphite Plus - Re-Rebuild
Truck is looking great! The white paint job on the body contrasts really well with the pink wheel disks - proof that a little perseverance is often required to be 100% happy with our builds & well worth the effort! 8) Major score on the earlier lightened/machined motor plate ~ they seem almost u...
