Re: My 10LS (and it becoming a Pro10)
Got the saddle packs made, electronics back in, some tires on, tweaked it, and took it for a spin. It's sitting around 1120g, race ready. Can't find a definitive weight requirement. Man, it feels great! Really looking forward to putting it on track this weekend at BRCC for some test & tune. Gett...

Re: My 10LS (and it becoming a Pro10)
Ditch that servo saver for a better steering feel, that (vintage now) S9551 is equipped to handle anything (also my favorite servo from BITD) Agreed. This new setup is with an Xray at full strength. Amen - love the 9551s. Run them in just about everything and always have an eye out for a good used ...

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)
Fun fact my buddy is some sort of an high flying electrical engineer at a national lab and has a need for lots of hex drivers in their lab. All the guys there use them and when I met them they didn't really know of the MIP RC connection just that the tools were the "best quality" they eve...

Of all the Re-Re stuff out there -- this one has piqued my interest enough to consider buying one.
I hate the ripped you off, Jeff. I admire your attitude. I'd have a hard time with that one, myself.
Gonna wait a few days to it the order button.

Wow is each lipo 1 cell? Or are they 2S each, man that must fly big time. I like it and I love 10L pan cars.
It's alot of fun, but not crazy top speed. Ya definitely have to roll into the throttle coming out of a turn.

Re: My 10LS (and it becoming a Pro10)
Got a moden body for it; a Fenix from Sidepiece. Love how it looks and how it handles. Been tinkering with setup - took the dynamic camber out of the front and went with a 3/8 slotted .060" T-bar in hopes of generating more rear grip for on-power corner exit. Picked up a NOS full-width front bu...

Re: RC10 Retro Racer
Tore the diff down - the new ceramic balls and rings were trashed. Honed the rings smooth & flat and installed some new AE carbide balls I happened to have. Now, I have been running these cars for over 30 years, but I am embarrassed to admit I never really knew how to properly set up a ball diff...

Upgrades!
The factory nylon front block was not able to retain the shock tower screws.
Went with the blue aluminum DHawk front block to support the 4mm front shock tower.

Re: RC10 Retro Racer
Had this buggy and the B44.3 out at a friend's backyard clay track this weekend. Making the triple was not possible with this car, but the double was doable, sometimes. Had a blast. The 8T motor is playing havoc with the ball diff- my slipper must be too tight or I just haven't set the diff correctl...

Re: Factory Works Ten4.1 project
You really need to read up on our FAQ and parts list to get the full idea of what we did but it uses a stealth diff up front and will have, as with every 4wd, slightly less steering than a 2wd, but the same as a Kyosho optima or similar 4wd of the era. As the maker of this conversion, I can say who...

Re: Factory Works Ten4.1 project
another question is how much steering does this kit give? Is it equal to the 2WD steering throw?
Has anyone raced this kit? Is it mildly competitive to say a B44?

Re: Factory Works Ten4.1 project
i may have missed it-- wondering about the front diff -- is it a spool or a ball-diff?
