Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

I lost the set-screw for this 22-tooth pinion gear - I have replacements in 4-40 and M3 sizes, but they are both too small for this pinion gear. What would be the next larger set-screw - M4? 5-40? Any suggestions before I buy something I cannot use? 22t piniion gear (1).jpeg 22t piniion gear (2).jpeg

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

The T2 may have come with a couple different springs through its production. Depending on the surface your racing on you'd go up on spring rate as the grip increases. Also if you move the shock in on the arm you'd likely go up on spring rate too. The light green springs are listed as same spring ra...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

So to confirm, the off-color green front springs on an RC10T2 - would be more equivalent to a typical "blue" Truck Front Spring? - The part number in T2 manual is the same as regular truck Front Green [ASC7427], right? - What was the point of the stiffer front spring? To expand on my ques...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

I found a basic answer to this question from Reggie, in this old thread: https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=23357&start=90 Re: My 2012 Vonat Builds (2WD) (02/18/12) Post by Charlie don't surf » Tue Feb 21, 2012 9:36 pm adam lancia wrote: Standard buggy/truck rear green springs and light gr...

Re: Spy Photos: MrLexan's Vintage nats entry

This model (minus the coke-bottle body) sits on my shelf most of the time - just as an oddity / vintage survivor. I dusted it off recently to scavenge a part - this thing still runs great! I imagine the ball-cups would not last through a race, but I ran it around the house and it is a perfectly capa...

This is very cool!

I love the 834b, but I do not have the skill to build something like this.

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

I bought a used RC10B4.1, it came with this strange spur gear.
Does anyone recognize this spur gear, what is it from or who makes it?

Holy Cow?!
I assume this would apply to the '87 JJ Ultima, as well?

Man, it will be hard to find a pinion gear big enough to optimize a 21.5 setup!

Re: Transmission Internal Drive Ratios

I see now in the T2 manual that it is a 2.60:1 transmission.

Good to know, as I plan to start on a T2 for vintage racing soon - I have not previously built a T2.

Re: Transmission Internal Drive Ratios

I trust Terry, and assuming the pulley teeth are the same as ZX which I can't imagine they would differ then it should be 14/31 so 2.21 and some change Great, Thanks! By The Way - in looking at the transmission ratios in this thread, I came across something I never knew... AE RC10T2 has a 2.6 inter...

Re: Transmission Internal Drive Ratios

Does anyone know the internal drive ratio for a Kyosho Lazer Alpha?

A knowledgeable person told me 2.21
Elsewhere on RC10Talk, I see where somebody estimated a Lazer ZX would be "something like 2.28"?

Re: Did you ever or do you race now?

I researched a bit - this was the version of RC10T3 I bought in 2002: - 2001 Assembled Versions: - #7009 RC10T3 Team- Built (ARR) - less radio system and electrical, with bushings and wheel ball bearings I can't find a picture, but I don't think it came with a body? Or if it did, the body was not pa...
