Re: Brush Painting Aluminum/Chrome Details inside Lexan - First Attempt

I always use WD-40 to remove tape residue. Try it on an inconspicuous paint area first, but I don't think WD-40 will have any effect on paint, and washes away with some dish soap and warm water.

Re: Who remembers the Chrysler Turbine car?

Fans of the 1963 Chrysler Turbine show car will find this interesting. I'm a Dodge fanatic and thought I knew all about Chargers, but I did NOT know about the 1964 Charger show car that pre-dated the first year of the first-gen Chargers. Check out the 1964 Charger concept car. Notice any similaritie...

Re: Things that irritate you

Buy a new Samsung TV and you'll quickly learn what irritates the Fawq out of me. My non-techy dad bought a new 55" Samsung "Smart TV" and couldn't get it working. After connecting everything up, connecting the TV to WiFi, the TV prompted that we needed to create an effing Samsung acco...

Re: Hi folks

Is that scheme painted on that gold RC10? It looks great, and really stands out from all the derivative copycat paint jobs out there.

Re: Who remembers the Chrysler Turbine car?

Pontiac Aztec. Awesomeness in disguise? I had a 2008 Pontiac Torrent GXP. It was built on the same platform as the gawdawful-ugly Aztec. Hard to believe the 2 cars shared the same chassis. The Torrent GXP was an excellent SUV, very fast with 263 hp from a 3.6L engine, sport-tuned suspension and exh...

Re: Who remembers the Chrysler Turbine car?

Best car ever made..period...not an opinion..FACT! Said no one ever, about a Chrysler product (at least, not anyone who has ever had one). The closest thing they have is Jeep, and the best Jeeps were when AMC owned them. AMC design carried on into the I6 4.0, which wasn't horrible. MOPAR did make s...

I seem to remember back in the day, Kyosho had some gliders that might've included a 600E motor. I could be wrong.

Re: Spray Paint types for Lexan

I'm not sure how well automotive paint will bond to Lexan. If color match is the most important factor, auto paint is the easiest solution, with PS-55 acting as a primer if you want a more resilient paint job. I gurgled and found a video... 3:30 in he demonstrates the flexibility of Tamia TS with P...

Re: MJX Hyper Go 14301 ESC power issue

Since nobody seems to know what's happening here, I did more research and will update this topic in case other people encounter similar issues. Apparently, the latest LiIon batteries are 7.4V, not 7.2V. The manufacturers state to charge them with the LiPo setting on your charger, *not* the LiIon set...

Re: Spray Paint types for Lexan

I'm not sure how well automotive paint will bond to Lexan. For one thing, it's meant to bond to properly-roughed-up primer on a hard surface, and you can't be priming the inside of a Lexan body shell or that's all you'll see, glossy battleship grey. It's also not meant to be flexible so auto paint o...

Re: MJX Hyper Go 14301 ESC power issue

Looking into this a bit more, I learned that 2S LiIon batteries charge up to 8.2V instead of 8.4V for LiPo's. Since both full charge voltages are well above the voltage cutoff for an ESC, I'd assume both types of batteries should still work in this car, but I'm still confused as to why only the 8.4V...

HyperGo 14301 ESC & 7.2V vs 7.4V LiIon battery issue

Hi Everyone, I don't know if many of you have experience with these Hyper Go 14301 RC trucks, but I have a problem with one, maybe someone has some insight. I encountered a strange issue with my 14301's ESC. With the included 2000 mAh LiIon battery, as well as two 2600 mAh LiIon batteries I bought a...

Re: Amusing Engrish typos on Asian R/C parts

This isn't RC related, but I sometimes get a laugh out of unintentionally-funny Chinese knockoff vendors on Amazon. Years ago, I was looking to buy a throne seat for my main drum kit, and this brand popped up in my search, Ichiias . I see they no longer sell the drum throne but they still make chair...

Re: Tamiya Polycarbonate Metallic Paint - Backing colors

Gotcha, you're talking metallic vs non-metallic. It would be interesting to know how backing a non-metallic color with a metallic silver turns out. Non-metallics will likely let almost no metallic backing coat show through. They're more solid colors. Metallics have particles that have to orient a c...
