Yo-clone-oh Dogfighter
It had to happen eventually , I've been fighting the urge but I've given up fighting . The Yo-Clone-Oh Dogfighter is a 3D printing project comprising of both faithfully copied parts that may not be strong enough for lots of rough and tumble and also some key parts that have been reinforced or upgrad...

Re: Yo-clone-oh Dogfighter
I got the battery tray modelled up today and I'm waiting on some yellow filament in order to print it , a big sheet of Kydex arrived today to make a chassis from , now I have to decide which chassis to make , its 3 mm Kydex so probably the early chassis with the big bumper , that would protect the s...

And then for the fist time in over 30 years in a leafy Surrey village under the baking July sun a man thought " I'm going to make that chassis out of Kydex " https://i.imgur.com/CLAECCcl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/eiAGBIpl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Fi84sSLl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/nQcIz82l.jpg ...

Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff
I've had a bit of a look and I'm guessing the part was lexan/poly carbonate originally , it would be challenging to make a visually correct copy with 3d printing especially if you wanted it in clear plastic though I did find a picture of a blue one as well , I'd also need some good engineering drawi...

Re: Want to try brushless
+1 on the Trackstar combo's and programmer , the punch being fairly low is kinder to old gearboxes without a slipper clutch to protect them but that's personal choice, its good to have so many adjustments on hand . 1 punch can give a soft or aggressive start 2 breaks can be dialed up or down 3 timin...

Re: Is there a 3S lipo that fits nice in the rc10 worlds re re?
At the very least your gunna need about 2lbs weight on the front end to stop it lifting the front wheels ! , a good 2s hight C rating race pack is plenty , if you want to go nuts stick a 7.5t or 6.5t brushless motor in it and that's probably still overkill .

Re: Yo-clone-oh Dogfighter
The material exists and people do print tyres and even toothed belts but the design options are limited , the flexible filaments don't work well with supports so a track racing slick tyre is easy to print but an off road spiked tyre would be very difficult , a ribbed tyre like the Sand Scorcher rear...

Re: Yo-clone-oh Dogfighter
Printing the other three gears together was a mistake , nothing too bad but there was a bit of stringing that needed cleaning up , no pictures I'm afraid but they are fitted and I've test run the gearbox out of the car , now its installed I'm going to test drive it tomorrow , see if it lasts 5 minut...

Re: Yo-clone-oh Dogfighter
I think its finished , now I just need to print another complete set of parts to make sure all my alterations work together ... Not sure I can face it right now  . I guess before that I should fully stress test the prototype , I had what I'm hoping will be the last part failure today , the las...

Re: Fingers crossed , breath held
Thank you all , she was silent and withdrawn on the way home but then came out to walk the dogs , animals always relax her , and she was able to talk about the day and its looking like she will be OK tomorrow .
