Re: It all started with an idea...

Well dang Doug! :D

Just getting ready to post an idea and you have a much better idea.
And way cooler graphics.
I don't think there is enough material left in carknowledge's bulkhead for my idea at any rate.
And using screws not sticky tack.

Rear wheel spacer alternative

With my last small parts order I got some 91633 "FT 12mm piston (V2) blank TP" cheap on Ebay. Like $6 for 4 12mm pistons. The price of 9608 spacers, when you find them, is $20 to $25 per pair if not more. The thought was @ $3.00 per pair I might drill the center to 3/16 inch. Glueing to a ...

Re: 6 gear outdrive distorting bearings on one side?

Hi I've never run across that problem. Sounds as if something is getting tight when rotating. By "outdrive" do you mean the outdrive installed with both the idler and input shaft gears installed in the trans? If so, it is probably the idler gear. I would think so because it is plastic and ...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - September 2020 ** - Winner - LoboNYC

I had a plan to use Associated sale items and affordable parts to build a midmotor with B1, B4, and B6 parts. The laydown B6.2 trans in this build and a couple other B6.2 transmissions were picked up very cheap on Ebay. I really liked the results and it spurred me into action on a second build that ...

Re: Stealth Trans w/Gear Diff

Doug

Now this is one really sweet project!
All the benefits of the B6 style trans without having to cobble the goldpans chassis.
Very clever indeed.

Re: Mid-motor B1, B4, B6

I did finally decide on a body. Yellow and black, same colors as a Radioactivity symbol! Paint is Proline Flourescent yellow and Proline Pearl black. Used Diveley mask for the first time on this paint as well. I chose the yellow for it's perfect match with JCracing yellow wheels, which are also new ...

Re: RPS Yokomo YZ-834B

If you think you know little about Yokomo, I know far far less. Almost nothing. However, the motor, you might need to talk to coxbros1 as he has a couple of them. Brushes may be difficult to find. The Funco/Bolink body, Dan is the Man. Sabulatech has numerous Bolink molds and https://store.sabulatec...

Re: Mid-motor B1, B4, B6 V2

So don't go looking for a "mini" sized servo mount. At least any place I looked. Found some 6061 aluminum bar in 1/2" X 1/2" X 12" and cut a few pieces off the end. My miter saw with a Diablo 80 tooth carbide tipped blade cut clean with no problems. Sand paper from 220-2500 ...

Re: What's everyone doing for ball studs?

Doug

Schumacher pro ball studs, best I remember, will work. They are the broached style though.
Custom Works Hex Drive Ball Studs look like a possible candidate though Amain is out.

Futaba FX10

Pretty far out of my AE comfort zone. My wife got this for me to try and "resurrect". Afraid this hobby grade car was rode hard and put up wet. Futaba FX10.jpg So I tore it down and cleaned everything as good as possible. Found 2 cracks in chassis, so unless I can find a replacement chassi...
