Re: Tamiya Grasshopper II "4WD Black Special"
Thank you! The body off shows a fairly standard Thundershot chassis. Tamiya sealed ball bearings and an on-road receiver case to keep the dirt out and the ESC in front of the airflow.

Do you have RC in your office or office shelves?
I do. It's probably not professional. I have another wall with academic books of course. Perhaps one or two RC would be tasteful, but the shelf space screams RC display.

Re: 1985 IFMAR Offroad 1/10 World Championships
Thank you for taking those pictures in 1985! Amazing photos, and a real treasure! I posted photos from a Japanese magazine on the 1985 race on this forum, so I am very happy I got to see your photos to see what is was like. Feel free to add your experiences /comments from attending the race if you s...

Re: Traxxas TRX1 Modern Racer build
Looks like a fun build! As a kid, I was always a fan of the TRX1 and that sleek futuristic body and broad stance. The TRX1 placing 4th place at the 1991 IFMAR Worlds was a big thing for Traxxas back in the day. It was satisfying to see other manufacturers (besides Associated and Losi) trying to make...

Tamiya Hornet with Good Year tires
This is my shelf display Hornet using the AMPRO adaptors for using Kyosho rims and Good Year branded tires.
My next project is to transfer the tires to an old school RC10 (I think the fronts and rears are a direct fit).
Do you eat persimmons in your family lol?

RC10 gold anodized rims from Pargu and tire combos
I went to visit the Pargu store in South Korea earlier this year, and while perusing his shop came across his last gold aluminum rims for the vintage RC10. It must have been in storage for many years. These are the 1.7 rear and 1.9 fronts (I think these are the dimensions to the RC10 original). He m...

How to clean and coat vintage tires
I have 20-30 year old tires, which have not been cleaned in as much time. The rubber is relatively stiff (maybe dry) but in great visual condition with all of the spikes and no cracking of the rubber. These tires will be mostly for display. I want to take off the rims and place foams inside but doin...

2023 MoonCruiser (aka Kyosho Nexxt)
Out-of-the-box design. Would look better cruising the surface of the Moon or Mars?
Along with the Tamiya Avante, the RC Elon Musk would most likely have in his office...

Re: Your favorite ESC (with photo)
This is a special ESC recently obtained for my 1997 Yokomo MX-4 World Champ buggy. The Tekin M Star Gold is my favorite for 2023. The gold heat sinks should look sharp installed.
I believe both the gold and red label Tekins were the winning ESC's at the 97 worlds.

My shelf display RC10B4 Factory Team kit
This is my shelf display RC10B4 Factory Team (FT) buggy. The B4 design is iconic for being the most dominant winning design--ever?. I installed the after-market blue anodized steering assembly, and aftermarket rear aluminum hubs to finish the blue aluminum theme. For electronics I added vintage hi c...

Re: Maxxum FF to the lineup
Like you I got one recently as well. You have a nice find there. I love the frontish mid-motor design, and for how uniquely engineered it is. Sort of like the overengineered Avante. The rear suspension brackets that attach the dampers to the link suspension were cracked (a very fragile design). I or...
