Re: Will these still work with the right battery and controller?
I still use that same esc in my Stadium Blitzer. If you choose to use a lipo battery, you will need to add one of the inexpensive buzzers to prevent over discharging the battery. NIMH batteries are still available but common stick packs don't fit well when mounted transverse in a RC10. In-line mount...

Re: Just bought this heap on ebay
Seeing that this is turning out to be a fairly nice truck, I decided that it deserved something better than some mismatched plastic shocks. I picked up this set of new 1.02's on clearance from Associated a few years ago. I kept them around in case I ever needed parts. I never did, so I decided to go...

Re: Rc10 worlds front spring help.
Your old o rings could be swollen, preventing proper shock function.

Re: Rc10 worlds front spring help.
Unless your shock bodies are damaged, I see no reason to replace the shocks. They are easy to clean and rebuild. If you don't damage anything during disassembly, the lower seals are typically all that needs to be replaced. If the cap seals don't leak, I typically reuse them. The lower o rings aren't...

Re: Diff spring vs clutch spring
No, not the same.
It was probably a good idea to replace the thrust spring anyways. If they loose tension, it can cause the diff to run loose and damage it.

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - February 2021 ** - Winner - coxbros1
Here we have a Bolink (not RJ) Digger, nothing special. I picked it up on ebay because it had a Novak Rooster and a nice Fantom motor. The body is a RJ reproduction of the 1/12 Bolink 69 Charger. The General Lee decals are from MCI, of which I only used a few of. I still have the white letter Bolink...

Re: RC10T3 Factory Team build
Is it weird that the blue caps look better on the had anodized bodies than they do on the blue ones?
I've always liked the black aluminum caps on gold bodies. Unfortunately, most of my caps are plastic.

Re: Another ebay rescue
I can tell you that spring from a Bic pen is too large.
I just bought these on ebay. That is the same measurements that I got from a new set.

Re: Help me remember Worlds re-re
I know that some had issues with the slipper clutch hitting the motor mount plate.
I think that there may have been an issue with some of the transmission cases being warped or something, causing binding.

Big Jim's RC motor black book.GeneralZod wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 12:06 am There was a book written many years ago about tuning brushed motors and it had a wealth of information on how its done but I can't remember the name of it now.
Originals are hard to find but I think there are some PDF versions out there.

Re: White arm GT
In general, white arm trucks are less common. Since the GT came later, it reasons that there were even less of them. I also think that the white arms just weren't as strong as the newer versions, likely leading them to be replaced. Its not like the white arms were anything special back then, the new...

Re: Just bought this heap on ebay
Looking at some of my other trucks, I decided to do a little parts swapping. I swapped the wheels and steering assembly for the hex conversion on my white arm truck. I also took the opportunity to replace some of the turnbuckles and get rid of the yellow ball cups. The front parts are from a Traxxas...

Re: "Chew Toy" recommendations
Is the Digger the old Bolink/RJ Speed? Do they handle pretty quickly? Yes. The only reason I mentioned the Legends and not the Digger was concern over the battery mounting position. I actually prefer the bottom load battery, with the large o rings. They are fun, fairly nimble little cars. Don't mis...
