Re: Best chemicals / methods for stripping paint from old bodies.
I'm certainly no chemist but I have stripped a few RC bodies during the past few years. There are a lot of different chemicals that work to varying degrees - some work more quickly than others. Anyway, I believe in many cases the cloudiness or fog you are seeing after the old paint has been removed ...

Re: srBFF Silliness Build
modelled up a test piece for mounting the trailing arms , quite tricky as the axle is 70 degrees angled from the pivot pin and the pin is 5 degrees angled from the chassis , I also gave it 0.5 degree toe in on each rear wheel , not sure if I'll fit it to the stock chassis or cut a whole chassis plat...

Re: Marui Samurai 4WD - Another SilverTriple's journey...
The rear gearbox is a weak point of these great looking buggies. A complex piece. Look carefully for any cracks and significant wear - especially the underside.

Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff
You tell people it's not easy but unless you actually know what your talking about and you have an original in your hands then you just can't see it , the whole thing is just wrong for FDM .

Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff
This is where I am with the FDM Samurai chassis , in Cura with 1.2 mm thick walls at 0.2mm layer height that looks horrible because of the gentle angles its about 10 hours print time for the main part of half the chassis , at 0.1 mm layer height with 1.2mm wall thickness its about 20 hours . chassis...

Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff
I've already made screw fixing points in the model and none are externally visible , the model you linked is beyond me as of yet and for some time to come but looks very nice .

Re: Kyosho Turbo Optima Legendary series - 30619
Personally I'm not a fan of the TO's wheels, they have very light greyish tinge to them (the re-release Optima wheels are the same) and don't look as nice as the originals that are distinctively whiter. I'd also prefer the original 3 piece design so you don't have to glue the tyres on.

Re: Tamiya M06 - Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA
As an owner of a couple of 1:1 scale Alfas (unfortunately not a Giulia Sprint) I absolutely love this!
I do have a M06 Gulia that is built but never finished. Seeing this I now feel that I need to finish it.
Thanks for the inspiration!

Re: Tamiya M06 - Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA
Well that turned out great. I'm curious what that metallic paint looks like outside under sun light. Since this is a track car, I'd be tempted to leave those body posts long so they protect the roof from scratches during a rollover.  Anyway, the car is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for po...

Re: Marui Samurai 4WD - Another SilverTriple's journey...
Looks good, but don't be surprised you find more cracks in the chassis and rear gearbox. Just how Marui plastics are... Check the condition of the front diff...you can sometimes find small micro cracks as the screwholes for the diff halves are unusually close to the diff casing. Shouldn't be a big p...

Re: Tamiya M06 - Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA
Great looking build! I have the Alpine A110 kit that I've yet to start and after seeing your build, I'll have to pick one of these up, the lines on these bodies are just beautiful, just IMO.
