Coyote Rethink

Been thinking of this for a while. I've got a fair pile of Coyote transmission parts and I've already CAD modeled the Tag Pro10 suspension but I want to take it a little further, I'm planning on changing around the front suspension to give the arms a 15 degree angle and doing something else with the...

Re: Hirobo Rockn City - rhyming slang or refurb.

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)

That's excellent work Mark , that radio tub took fantastic 8) .
I know I go on about it but give those red nylon parts a good long soak in water , Hirobo nylon really does get brittle and the bulkheads snap at the lower suspension arm mounts regularly .

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)

I don't think they put adjustable castor on zerda because it has castor angle on the front of the chassis plate. I guess no harm in having adjustable castor on a zerda but I haven't compared any effect on dogbone length and Zerda/44b front suspension arms are different lengths anyway. Is adjustable ...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)

In the later Alien mid and Invader they used the same suspension geometry as the Zerda but significantly reinforced , the suspension arms are much thicker and the suspension mounts on the bulkheads are greatly reinforced , the suspension components for the Alien Mid and Invader are a drop in replace...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)

It's very easy to make those bumpers , it's just 3mm Kydex , you can get it on eBay , it softens in an oven at 150°C or if you just want a bend then a hot air gun works very well . Mark there is a piece of software called GOM Inspect that is often used in 3d scanning that compares digital models , I...

It's turned into "A Tale of Two Zerdas"
Painted the penguin driver, not perfect paint job, not even good but better'n nowt.
Still some tinkering opportunities.

Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff

The hirobo 12mm hex problem. Curiosity I bought some cheap tamiya hpi axles. Then some 10x15x4 bearings to fit the cup of the axle. Can't find 5x15x5 to fit the narrow part of the axle but used 6x15x5 zerda with some spacer (rolled plastic for the time being). Offered up to zerda steering knuckle to...

Dimensions

I wonder if you find it as annoying as I do that many products and spares don't give a good description of measurements. Especially with vintage models for which spares are difficult to come by. Probably loads of compatible or adaptable parts if sufficient descriptions were available. A database on ...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)

That's bad luck with the chassis , sometimes there's just no fixing things and with Fusion you often don't know why you can't fix it ? :| Glad you get it done in the end , it's looking good :!:
One day your going to have to computer animate a race between all your CAD model cars

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)

Shock data. Piston shaft lengths 41mm and 33mm x 3mm Piston head 7.5mm dia Cylinder barrel 38mm plus 8mm fixing head Dia 10mm wall thickness abt 0.5mm The oil passing around the piston instead of through holes is a poor point in design. So is the method of fixing seals in the cap. And shafts wear by...
