RC12LW back from the dead

One of many projects that is finally finished. This was my old 12LW carpet racer from the early 90s. A long time ago, the car lost the main shock and was shelved up until recently. It took a while to finish due to the missing shock. Thanks to fellow member a01butal! He sent me the complete part and ...

Re: A couple of new projects

Very nice! Everything looks brand new! Someday, I will need to add one to my stable. But I am trying hard not to buy any more till I get most of my current pan cars finished! Otherwise, I will get side tracked all over again!

Re: RC10LS from spares bin

To keep the cells isolated from the chassis and create a tight grip once the battery straps are snugged down, I cut an old bike inner tube and tucked it under the cells.

Re: RC10LS from spares bin

Stealth antenna complete. It's attached to the servo using velcro and fits inside canopy area of GTP body nicely. I think I will swap out the front e-clip axles for the threaded ones. I also made an edge guard to the front bumper to protect the chassis from road damage. Now for the fun part...fittin...

Re: Trinity Tru-lathe 3 pro

Thanks for the tips! I tried several of them which resulted in a much better comm. I spun my first practice arm under a scope and found out the comm after cutting was not fully round. It had some wobble. I also managed to reshape the original carbide bit to allow the very tip to contact the comm. Th...

Re: RC10LS from spares bin

Thanks Jake! The bumper and nerf wings were entirely done by hand. I just used old fashion techniques using paper and card stock to mock up the parts to see how they fit, then transferred the working pattern to the actual material. Then I used a sharp box cutter knife to rough cut the part then fini...

Motors from the crypt

Came across this recently and had to pull the trigger. Not too sure what is in it - check. Well aged yellowed plastic case -check. Small bits of dog hair tangled around parts -check. Attempt to bring them back from the dead? Sure, why not? :D 20190821_203037.jpg I think I can work with these. 2019-0...

Re: Car#9 RC10LSS ‘IDENTITY CRISIS’

Yep saw that, good score! It makes more upgrades possible due to the low initial cost. Looks like it came pretty complete. Glass 10L's just look so classy once cleaned up.

Re: Car#9 RC10LSS ‘IDENTITY CRISIS’

Been putting off painting my Lumina body in the Mello Yello scheme for years. Days of Thunder was one of my favorite movies growing up. Love that movie too! Actually have a vintage Days of Thunder leather jacket signed on the back by Tom Cruise. Never wore it, I would get mugged if I did. Same one ...
