Yes it seems small brushes have been used at some point. For the armature it could be a Checkpoint. It seems there have been differences between Igarashi based and Yokomo based motors or others. Usually you can see Checkpoint armatures painted in red color but I think this was maybe more for Igarash...

I am going through the same rebuild process with a fair few of my old brushed motors.

MCI has twister decals too! i tried them ... they are 'good'. You can definitely tell they're reproduction - real twister decals are foil - so the repops look different.
