Hey gents! So the girlie I may have mentioned in earlier posts during this build...well I went and asked her to marry me lol and thankfully she said yes (we were on a mountain and a no would have seen me jump )

Thankfully for me she recently asked if we could have a hobby night together and my large plastic bin was immediately dragged out of the basement and I will be posting pictures to complete this timeline build.

Quick question, I fully admit at being a terrible artist and can’t paint to save my life, does anyone have a recommendation on someone who would be willing to paint the box art on my original shell?

He sells many box art bodys...and i believe they cost about 100 bucks. Not sure what he would charge if you sourced the body. Id probably keep you original and just buy a fully painted body from him...will look very similar to the box art.

I had 2 of those body's (now I have once since one went with a car I sold) and they are great.

Ok so I finally finished cleaning and reassembling the shocks, which looking at the box pictures are the same black anodized shocks used on the 91 and as mentioned I located a set that didn't put me back too much and were in much better shape than what I originally had.

There are two deviations from the box art that I should point out here before you see the pictures below. First is that I have yet to locate a full set of the copper coloured springs and although I have been looking they are difficult to find. If you have any hold onto them, the first real hen's teeth part I haven't been able to locate. The second is one of the nuts I used to mount the shocks is not the right one, see pictures below. Thankfully the rear shocks in the box art pictures did not have any spacers but it appears the fronts had the medium sized ones, something else I need to find and overpay for lol

p.s. you will notice in the above pictures that there are two black ball cups used near the servo saver, know that I have since swapped these out with white ones. If you are using pliers, a quick tip is to fold a small piece of paper towel over the tie rods and then apply pliers, it will save you from inadvertently scratching the tie rods.

I use an associated ball cup tool from Racers edge I think, has Losi on the other end.

Hey mate here is an example of the dremel at work to clean up your magnesium or alloy bits...plus a bit of a buff at the end to make it all shiny like the use to come straight out of the box..!

That is a bitser it's got a Tomy spur gear! And that mag looks great.

Toaster it's looking good the yokes clean up really well keep up the good work

Do you plan on running this car?

I am having a blast running mine, very durable and surprisingly fast with a 10.5T brushless setup (novak edge esc and a Novak 10.5T in one car and a Tekin 10.5 Gen 3 in the other). I have the same 10T brushless setup in a mostly std 94 (has TCS and upgraded steering rack) and Pavidis. Been working on some suspension adjustments for the touring car track (many twists and turns keeps things interesting and clean) I run my cars on.

Ill try to post more vids.

Happy New Years gents, hard to believe another year has passed. Made a little more headway with the rear shock mount, installing the wing mounts, rubber o rings etc..

Of course you most likely noticed that the battery straps and under tray are also installed (can you believe it is the original under tray? still blows my mind)

Shot of the under tray...you may notice the front bumper is pretty chewed but original to the car so I decided to keep it. However that being said, does anyone remember if someone on here was making them still? Leads always appreciated

This is another warning post, go buy the appropriate tool to punch holes in plastic/Lexon, I got cocky and nearly completely cocked up the wing holes... not perfect but will do the trick

Box art tires are all mounted to the rims (need to replace the rear rims which are original but too chewed up for my liking, one day when they appear on the flea bay). I also am replacing the screws shown to the originals and using 4 per rim as in the box art pictures.

So here is where she stands, putting her up on the shelf until I can find/order some of the minor pieces mentioned in earlier posts and I still have yet to reach out to the paint guy on eBay but will be doing that shortly. Can’t thank everyone enough for their interest in this little project and until the body arrives I will be tearing down on old Kyosho Inferno I scored on the bay recently for less than the shipping costed me
