Oops, looks like I am confused between the proformance kit and the jrx pro. My bad.

Hi guys,
Really sorry for the delays on getting progress updated here.
Have been working on them VERY slowly. We have a big vintage meeting here this weekend - and I have been preparing the race cars for that event.....plus - I am changing roles at my wrk - as well as a family to entertain as well.
I am loving the builds - I will update after this meeting.
Thanks to everyone for the interest.
Cheers

Re: LOSI "Multiple Builds" 5 years of "Ï think" has to end.
I really wish their were!!
I got called onto shift work for 3 months - so that has put paid to any "major" progress to this rather large set of projects!
The above, coupled with me doing more modern off road racing has again put this on the backburner. I finish shiftwork in a month or so - so then I can get my life back in order and spare a bit more time for the family and my hobby. With 4 kids it gets a little hard to juggle it all sometimes!!
I do know one thing for sure - I will most definately have plenty of left over bits to sell to other Losi fans!
Cheers

Re: LOSI "Multiple Builds" 5 years of "Ï think" has to end.
yeeehah!! I have finally gotten underway!
I have finished shiftwork. The R/C racing season is over until next year and I have no more excuses!!
After counting all the parts bags (well - I actually stopped at 350!), I decided that I am going to build 1 "Hopped up" monster Pro with all the goodies I have on hand at the moment, one bone stock JRX Pro, one slightly modded JRX Pro and at least one original swb JRX2. All of those will be new built from parts. Anything I have left over I will restore and or build nice cars both short and long wheelbase. I should get at least 4 new builts and 3 or more nicely restored cars. I will also get a couple of runners going and rebuild my Pro runner - it has seen better days - having done 2 endurance meetings and countless laps at vintage meetings - I think it deserves a rebuild!!
I have decided to build the "HOT" Pro first - as I am very keen to use all those funky option parts I have been collecting over the last 12 years. I am having a real internal battle with myself as to whether or not I want to have H arm or 5 link rear suspension. I am leaning towards 5 link - because it is different and I have some really nice RPM 5 link parts etc that I would love to use. I did run a Pro with a 5 link for a while - it was a great car and certainly looked good.....what do you guys reckon? I will still build the standard box stock Pro from parts - so I will have a "H" arm car - just stock.....
Any ways - onto the "HOT" Pro build..............and a awwwwaayyyyyyyy weeeeee go!
Something I have always done when building cars is to sand and smooth the edges of all shock towers and chassis parts. Old habbits die hard - however Ithink it makes for a nicer display model as well when all the edges are smooth. I usually also CA the edges as well - however thats only if the car is going to be run - these ones sure wont be! After sanding I go over the edges with a permenant marker to tidy up and make things look neat:

Started laying out some of the parts in preparation to get things happening:

Ball raced steering and rear shock tower in:

The build is well and truly underway now - things are nice a cluttered and parts everywhere....LOVE IT!! Fitted the Losi optional mini front bumper that actually raises the height of the bulkhead. This little kit also comes with the spacers to put under the steering bellcranks so that the geometry is still correct......cool stuff.

The first of the "serious" mods - the brilliant A&L power clutch. Really nicely made bit of kit!

Stay tuned for the next installment of "Pro workshop" ! LOL
Cheers

Wooo, very nice
Looking forward to the next instalment......
Its kind odd that on one hand its a shame not to run a car with a bundle of top quality upgrades fitted - even if its to just see how it will go... but it would equally be a shame to 'soil' such a rare new built car with even rarer hop-up parts.

Re: LOSI "Multiple Builds". Builds finally started Dec 2009!
Round two is underway, have to say I am really enjoying this very much. So many memories are coming back about how to make these cars perform. Some of you may be dissapointed, I went with the H arm suspension as this really was the preferred choice when the JRX Pro was the car to have. I built the gearbox with the optional ball bearing supported diff gear. I also fitted the MIP dogbones - these are really very funky and freaking sweet to look at!
Using a full set of the Lunsford hinge pins and turnbuckles. Cant forget that brilliant Litesink motor plate either - really have to thank Mr Lexan for that one - great looking bit of gear.
Rear arms getting ready to receive the Lunsford hinge pins:

The build would just not be complete without a brand new period correct Team Losi "Ïnsane" mod motor:

Left hand view showing the motor, MIP driveshafts and other goodies:

Here you can see the A&L power clutch. The great thing about these clutches was the fact that they were the first clutches available that allowed you to change the spur gear without having to re-adjust your slipper setting. Would really love to find another one of these for my runner:

Next up is the turnbuckles, front suspension and shocks etc. I plan to use the gold anodised optional "hard body" shocks. Also I will be using the "swept" front end on the car - something that was highly popular here.
Thanks for looking - comments and suggestions always welcome.
Cheers

HAHAHAHA - thanks for the comments guys!
Been a busy little man I have!! Started now on the standard JRX Pro. Will be totally stock with no special mods. I am really enjoying this time in my hobby room. It has been such a long time since I have really gotten serious and built some cars....quite enthused at the moment.
The "Hot" Pro is pretty much done as can be seen in the following three pics. Will post up pics of them all completed (eventually):
Rear 3/4 view - showing off the rear end hop up options, reckon she would be a treat to drive!

Front - showing "swept front end" and optional bumper:

Showing off that great A&L slipper, really very nice and smooth:

And here we go again - this time starting work on the bog standard JRX "Pro -Formance" car. This one will have a nice NIB Juniors Choice Mod sitting in the back!

Next step is going to be fun, have parts strewn all over my bench - think I might need to take an hour or two just to sort out all the parts that I havent used so I dont open up to many packets!
Hope you are enjoying the pics as much as I am sharing them.
cheers
