i'm well enough to work on the old stuff at my dad's place. my body's not up to going back to the hustle of working in a collision shop yet.

i'm not in a huge hurry anyways. i love working on old cars. new cars suck....... all of them.

i have a dewalt variable speed buffer. but, you have to polish some stuff by hand....... the hard to reach stuff.

it's a 63 impala. it's being done up like a Z-11 factory super stock drag car from the period. 409 w/ 2x4's, 4sp., 4.11 posi. something like these. don't know if it'll be getting lettered up, though.

Nothing looks better than black when it's clean and nothing looks worse than black when it's dirty. :D

When given the choice, all of my real vehicles have been black. 8)

My parent's neighbor has a black '68 Camaro convertible that will flat blind you. It's about the sweetest mix of black and chrome that I've ever seen. One of my favorite cars ever, but I'm not exactly an expert so no one rag me if it's a turd. Well, actually go ahead. It doesn't bother me. :P I think if I had one I'd want beatiful chrome wheels and tires, but primer grey. Cool look for a rod in my opinion. 8)

Yes, but if I were the type that got embarrassed I'd definitely be embarrassed by how little I know about real cars. Don't get me wrong, a perfectly restored vintage rod is sweet. In fact the Frog Follies just ended. I go at least twice to every event.

I think a good rat Rod offers just as much wow factor.
By the way scr8p, glad you're back to doing something you love. Also wish I had some sort of skill other than....nothing.

ya, i cleaned the garage up because of painting. but once i'm all done spraying this one, it'll most likely rerturn to the bomb blast it usually looks like. there's just too much stuff up there and nowhere to go with it. my dad is land locked and can't build another garage (zoning said so). he's probably gonna get a decent size shed and drop it being the garage to store some of the equipment.

we're doing a 68 442 also, and that was in the old half of the garage while i was doing the roof on the impala. it's back over on the "work" side for now. it'll get moved again later this week so i can continue painting parts.
