I vote that it be renamed "the Purple People Eater", and that you anno the shock caps purple too!!
on a side note. VERY NICE!!!
i had the shock caps done they are just sitting off to the side for now.... i just thought the blue ones would go well with the factory team parts....and give a bit of contrast....
as far as the color purple.... not sure why i like it... i just remember as a kid, that if you had either purple or blue parts on your car you were cool... stock was so lame.....hahah damm kinwald he is the one who started it back at M'n'M hobbies in corona in 95
I love these "old / modern" builds! Very cool and inspiring. I hope to someday get one going myself. For those of us with less knowledge- it is great when you guys write down the parts list as well. Very nice job in laying out the parts and color combos. Can't wait to see how you incorporate the colors into the body. Thank you.
This is my latest acquisition. It caught me eye, one for obvious reasons, the purple chassis. Also it is in relatively good condition, minimal scratches on the bottom of the chassis. Yeah, there are a few on the nose plate and the back under the...
Here is the start of a modern take on the RC10T. I just had the chassis anodized. I did some rounding and sanding work to it prior to anodizing. I will be installing modern electronics, as well as new vintage upgrades. It will be a bit of a mash up...

After reading your posts, and seeing pics of your runner build...it has inspired me to keep my world's chassis and build it a different way, and not so much building it in stock form. Thanks!
Picked up these two trucks ones a JRXT and the other I can't figure out (80 bucks shipped would like to sell one if it can be identified):

I know it's blasphemous to do... but I did it anyway. Still have my best original white parts cleaned and on the shelf for another build. These were the more dinged / discolored parts that didn't clean up as well.
Anyway, on to the idea... PURPLE....

The black tires and stainless steel screws would be the contrast. :)
I've wanted to build a Losi for a while since I became active in RC again. But as I joined in the vintage scene, an RC10 looked like it be easiest to complete. Then an Ultima fell in my lap. Now, I getting back to where I started in RC, and I guess...
