The Purple People Eater or aka Barney

Post by mrlexan »

This is my latest acquisition. It caught me eye, one for obvious reasons, the purple chassis. Also it is in relatively good condition, minimal scratches on the bottom of the chassis. Yeah, there are a few on the nose plate and the back under the motor, but since this is a one-off (I assume) I figured I could deal with the silver marks showing up through Barney. I need to get cracking on some AE restos (don't start Scr8p). I first need to rid my bench of the 5 Frogs taking up that space. Not sure if I will use white or black parts.... Suggestions?

none of the above. That chassis is begging for some neon yellow or green nylon.

there was never a factory purple anodized chassis. someone did that, or had it done. dead giveaway would be motor plate. it's cut, yet fully anodized.

gonna jump on aconsola's bandwagon and go for a color instead of either black or white...just not sure which color would suit your purple anodizing. If it was back in the 80's I would say pink
BTW, is that one of those famous ESC/receiver mounts that doesn't have a ESC/receiver mounted to it?

I am digging the custom bell crank body post combo on it.

Go with the yellow or green dye job !

Now what I want to know is: what body is the lexanking going to use on this?
