2010 VONATS Truck pulls???

Post by soniccj5 »

Would anyone be interested in having a truck pulls at the next VONATS? If so let me know and I can bring our sled.

It would give me an excuse to use a pulling hitch as a rear lockout on my Clod. Although that would be about the only part that would make it a puller, the real pullers would likely smoke me. It might be fun to do a pulling fun run/run what ya brung thing. See how much a Lunchbox could pull, a couple Clods, a Grasshopper, etc.

I used to pull with my Midnight Pumpkin and larger rear tires. If there is enough interest in doing this I will have to dust it off.

I say good idea, new stuff keeps it interesting.

Not to get off topic, but did the planned swap meet fizzle out?
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

Yeah i was kinda disappointed i left at 4am to be there so i wouldn't miss it and i got there and there was nothing  I was really hoping it had that real car swap meet feel, and hoping i could sell and buy some stuff.

Swap meet was like last year, people selling stuff out of their pit. I think that's the best way. Then you can walk around between races on your down time and see what's available.

I think a vintage truck pull would be a great idea.

Hmm that does sound intersting. I even have a pulling sled from back in the day. Does anyone know how those work as far as rules or anything?

I used my Midnight Pumpkin with a gear reduction and my Dad ran his Clod Buster. We really did not have any rules back then, but I think we should limit the year to keep with the Vintage theme.

Maybe with two sleds we could have a truck pull drag race :-)
