New BBT Project
New BBT Project
I got this is a trade from matthew john(Thanks Matt!). I just got back from Hawaii and don't have to go to work until Monday so I'm starting the tear down for resto. It's kind of rough but I think it has potential, besides, I love a challenge! I appreciate any input as to exactly what it is, what's missing, etc. I may post a needs list in BST as well. I couldn't resist spending a little time working on one header. I straightened the flange plate and exhaust tip and polished on the aluminum and brass a bit. (I realize the rear cage is on upside down!)

It looks like it's a Vindicator..some things are different..the side panels are home made I think..the originals had louvers..and the tail section is off an Ascot ... looks like a great project that could eat up a heap of cash..
Re: New BBT Project
I'm hoping not too much cash! Can you tell me what in particular is the expensive part on these - or is it an accumulated cost thing that sneaks up on ya?tizeye wrote:..looks like a great project that could eat up a heap of cash..

By the Way
Anyone know what this piece is? I'm beginning to suspect it does not belong to this car. This is a solid bar with no holes in it.

Yeah I saw that..I don't think it belongs to this car though..if you already have most of the parts it won't cost you too much..you just missed a nice set of alloys for one of these that another member was selling..you can buy nice upgrades from barts parts http://www.rdent.com/sprint/sprint.html including the alloy wheels I used..as for the side panels after having another look I think that they may also be off a Ascot..
Re: New BBT Project
Yeah, I just found this picture of a similar car. Seems to be more or less identical:tizeye wrote:as for the side panels after having another look I think that they may also be off a Ascot..

Your cage is different..down tubes from top of cage..and the nerf bars ( radius rods ) are different as well..extra cross brace..

Re: New BBT Project
Yours is a cross between a Vindicator and a Ascot..I prefer the down tubes myself
Re: New BBT Project
Ahh, now I see. I suppose there were several companies making these things. All similar but none quite the same.
