TRX 1 Pics
Finished the car over the weekend, mixture of oldish electrics. Still prefer the feel of brushed motors
Will give it a couple of runs before running next Sunday at an out door winter series meet
Excuse the paint, just a quick blow over so I can run

Re: TRX 1 Pics
very nice example. Did you get the car with the 'glass shock towers? I know both of my factory carbon fiber ones were very brittle, sitting in a box in pieces.
I'm sitting here looking at that body and thinking it would look sweet painted red w/black web; as a spiderman mask. The windows are a perfect match of his eyes, black outline with a silver or mesh pattern. Finish it off with blue wheels, and maybe shock towers, and a blue spoiler with a black spider on it, eh? All these years and it finally clicked what that body reminded me of. Sorry to get off-topic.

Re: TRX 1 Pics
The car came with the fibreglass towers, I have another set on a second car waitng to be restored
Are the carbon fibre ones all carbon or did they have a "glass" middle like sandwich?
Great idea for the paint job, not so suer on the blue wheels

Re: TRX 1 Pics
mine were all carbon. Not a weave though, laminated in opposing directions. they were very hard and brittle, a couple hard crashes, and they basically fractured apart. Later ones were either white or black 'glass, from what I can tell.

Re: TRX 1 Pics
I find it a little sad you didn't go deeper on the effort side while painting such a rare body. A lot can be done to a white body with todays decals though.

Sweet ride!
What type of undertray and battery brace are you using?

Re: TRX 1 Pics
The undertray and battery brace are all homemade as are the wing and body
As to a bit "sad" about the paint scheme, this body on trial to see how it handles the rigors
of a race meeting and the feedback from fellow racers.
The material used is thicker than the original, so I am hopeful
If all goes well I,ll have a shell painted "boxart" by someone else, painting is not for me

Re: TRX 1 Pics
That is a repro shell, undertray and the wing is copy of the RC10 worlds.
They are all made from 1mm lexan.
When I am happy with the feedback I get from this weekend then the next stage is availability
The windows are marked out, is it advisable to put the cut lines on

Re: TRX 1 Pics
Well I know its been a while, but I,ve finally got my body and wing painted
You may notice a slight colour difference, wing looks more creamy, not sure why
the same paint was used, anyway my paint guy is having another wing to try and get a match
I,ll give the paint a couple of days to fully dry then trim it to fit, just need some decals, any recommendations

Re: TRX 1 Pics
Looks splendid. I wouldn't add much, perhaps a race nr and some smaller ones; just traxxas and TRX-1?

With all due respect I HATE YOU!
Hopefully those babies are ready soon! Looks like a box art replica going on?

Re: TRX 1 Pics
Hey Ken,
thanx for the updated pix. Looks great. Can't wait to get a couple sets. I'd have to agree with MrEd and not overdo it. Once its all fuddled up with stickers it takes away from the paint but thats just my 2cents
