That's JD Beckwith with the trophy girl, Ruona is in the pic to the right. I just watched the video of this race last week.
Tracks sure have changed, that one had 2 jumps on it and the cars weren't clearing them!
I believe that article was written by Gene Husting

i wonder what happened to brent wallace. that guy was an excellent racer in the 90's. i remember running touring cars against him in the late 90's and into 2000.

Ha! that was my home track! Boy, sure ran a lot of races there. By far the best (and busiest) track I ever visited. Single day entry record - 29 heats for a saturday! (yes that is 290 entries) 7am to 2am the next day . As for Brent, he passed away a few years back. Motor cycle accident from what I understand -shame. He and I did ALOT of R&D for Schumacher back in the day, many of the 4wd advances came from him. I was responsable for a lot of the 2wd changes in the cougar line and most of the testing was done at that track-just so you know where your schuie cougar/2/works came from . -Jeff

damn, that sucks. he was a really cool guy. literally. i started tc racing in about 98 or 99, i had one of the very first yokomo j type yr-4 m2 kits. brent had also had one. he was doing a lot of testing at the ripon speedway track when i was introduced to him. he sure knew how to dial in a car that had very little track time here state side. damn shame, real cool guy. he was from anitoch right?

He was from Fresno. I raced religously @ ripon for years, won the First Reedy Race of Champions there too (open Mod TC). Those were the days .
