not missing a beat

Post by wyattroa »

Well after not running the car for about 15 years i decided to get her back up and running. I needed to replace the speed controller as it was taped together, then i replaced the steering servo because it would not plug into m spectrum receiver. It has the three prongs on the servo. I got new 6 gear gears in it. I used the same engine that was in it 15 years ago and it still works! She ran great but is a little slower then what i remember. I then figured out what that problem was. The rims were spinning but the tires were not..it would eventually get up and going. I tried to tighten the allen heads that were on the tires but still have the same problem. Going to go run to the hobby shop to get some tire glue to help it out.. Should get a better top speed and acceleration then!..

The center ring is missing if you are spinning your wheels

the inner rings are there. Its just that the screws will not tighten down all the way. Whats the lowest turn engine that can be put in a 6gear transmission.

I wouldn't run any thing under a 15t brushed, or a 10.5bl, but it depends on the tranny internals, diff pinned or not, and your throttle finger--I have a all metal geared, mip (pinned) diff bearing equipped sixgear that will run a 4.5 w/o trouble

Ebay, or members here once you are BST approved. You can pin the diff yourself BTW, and the metal gears are always on a gold tub with locked out front suspension for drag racing

I'll post a pic if needed, but you notch the diff rings at the inner lip, then drill a hole on both alum diff halves at the same point, insert the same size roll pin (needs to be cut flush with the diff ring)
and wala!
