Today's question RC10, B2, T2, GT, DS differences

Hi guys and girls,

Here's todays question...

I would like to know what the standard original gold pan RC10's rear arm mounts, angle, in degrees is?

Also is there a difference between the RC10 types of rear axle/bearing carrier?

Basically I have found those two parts in alloy but they say they are for the RC10, B2, T2, GT, DS etc. all I want to know is will they fit my Hot Trick (basically an original) RC10?

Original rear arm mounts are 1.5º per side (AE #6360)

There are several rear carriers:

Original RC10 are 0º per side Use 3/8" OD flanged bearings.

Graphite, Team car, CE, Worlds car are 1.5º per side. 3/8 OD flanged bearings (these the left carrier has a big "L" on it)

Trucks (7001, 7011) have 3º per side carriers and use non-flanged 3/8" bearings. The left carrier has an "L" on it.

Team trucks (7035) T2s and GTs have 0º per side 3/8" non flanged, and 3º arm mounts. The carrier is marked "0", the arm mount is marked "3" on the electric, and is unmarked on the GT.

I believe that all the various rear carriers are interchangeable if you have the correct bearings(flanged vs standard)

MY Factory team GT's came with some toe-in in the carriers. For oval racing we mount them backwards to cancel out the toe from the suspension blocks.

Thanks for your reply templeofspeed. I think from what I understand of what you have written that these parts will work. e.g. the only difference between the cars/trucks is slightly different angles and slightly different bearings.

I assume from that the flanged bearings will sit in an unflanged hole or they can be modified to fit. Or unflanged bearings could be used which would fit the original axles?

The last thing I am guessing is that there is no difference in the rear arm mount length or to put it another way the lengths on the rear arms where the arm mounts and axle carriers go is the same on all these cars?

So Anthony you are saying the rear carriers will fit but will the rear mounts?

they should all innerchange. however you can't innerchange the bearings in the different hubs. i have a pr. of the hub carriers and my brother has the arm mounts and they work great................

P.S. What do you think of these parts?

Those carriers use 3/8 non flanged bearings, use whichever ID type suits your axles, the arm mounts will be fine, too.

I don't know what to think about 'em, but they will work on your car. I'm not big on the alloy stuff, but then again I've only been doing "boring" stock restorations lately...

I think the HG stuff is (was?) good quality, as opposed to some of the more current faux billet Chi-com stuff.

DR. R. I have a set of arm mnts from Ghumman also.I don't believe you can use them on the Orig. RC 10.As the B2 and B3 use a 5-40 screw for the arm mnts.As for hub carriers,shims and the correct bearings,and you should have no problems.Hope this helps.

umm, has anyone else noticed that there are no rear arm mounts in that package? it looks like an alloy diff nut to me. check the little pic in the upper left corner.

they must have made a set for the original rc10 also because my brother uses them on his original terminator with the 8-40 screws.
