the largest collection?

Post by asashaw »

The random group of cars on the left are all sealed , or at least sealed on the inside (the truck + worlds car). All the gold cars are BRAND NEW and complete (NOW anyways after years of searching for missing parts) as are most all of the other kits. I also have over 4000 NIP vintage aftermarket and associated white parts.

That is peachy.
What are you going to do with all that stuff besides brag about it on the Internet?

Great collection

Hi,

First off dude let me compliment your awesome collection, though I can't understand it, it looks great

I am not having a go or anything like that but to me it doesn't make any sense so I thought I'd ask. :?

What's the point of having lots of the same sealed boxes? I mean without going down the road of whether you should open them or not (you should :D ), but why all the duplicates?

Anyway keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.

Cheers

Ed

P.S. What's in the MIP box? is it the cable drive? :D

Nice collection, we need more posts like this!
So those of us with small collections can show them to our spouses who think we're nuts, and get them to leave us alone. :D

as for the duplicate thing. I could see having 1 sealed, 1 nib(it's nice to look inside at fresh parts), 1 new built, and 1 modified runner for each model. That would make an awesome display. 4 long shelves, one for each category, starting with the earliest car on the left making a visual timeline of both cars and boxart.

How do you go about storing/sorting 4000 parts, and how do you find anything? That's probably more than my lhs has on their big wall-o-parts
Post some pics of the parts collection too, that would be nice to see and helpful for the same reason as above .

Great collection. i would imagine it took you a while to aquire them

as for collecting NIB's, to each their own. I never pass judgment on what somebody likes. I can't tell you how many times people have e-mailed me saying that I should build my NIB sand scorcher. My thought is that there are so many built examples and so little unbuilt, why do i need to build mine?

Same here, how many unbuilt RC10's do you think are out there? I say, keep them new

shodog makes a good point. If I could, I would have a closet full of NIB 10s. But then again, I would have contests and give some of them away so to some, I may be nuts. The fact is, my doctor says I am fine as long as I take my meds. So there you go, my 2 cents.

Nice collection by the way.
He's an idiot. Comes from upbringing. His parents are probably idiots too.

i only saw a tq10 once and missed it on ebay. I have educated my fiancee very well, she actually collects and sells also (mostly yokomo). Hopefully she has become a true RC10 jedi... and will make a fortune when I die and she sells these! LOL
I will be posting my built cars next, just have to find a spot big enough to take a picture of them all... HA! :P
