Re: Masami replica buildup
little update. my dad's neighbor made a copy of an a&l centerlink for me. it's a little wider than what masami has on his car, but it's close enough for me. i need to get some longer screws so i can put some locknuts on top of the bellcranks. i still need to place a large hardware order from somewhere.

Re: Masami replica buildup
Nice to see you made some progress, it's only been a year
I'll send you those parts after this weekend so you can finish before Jay builds one.

Re: Masami replica buildup
here's the new rims and tires that'll be going on it.
crp #4223 front spikes
tq-20 rears
proline 2523 front rims
yokomo 2.0 pink rear rims
the yoke rims are actually used, but they're near perfect. so, that's good enough for me. i'm not exactly sure if the tq-20 rears are gonna be correct. the 2 pics i have, the body off shot has what looks to be rc10 jelly bean rims and the stock rib kit tires, and yoke tr-8's (maybe tr-9's, i don't remember which is which) on the back. but i'm going by the action shot for my build, which is why i choose the tire/rim combo i have. but with the tires spinning in the pic, it's hard to figure out exactly what they are. it took me awhile to figure out the fronts. at first, i thought they were tq-76's. but the more i looked at them, i knew that wasn't right. so for now, i'll just stick with the tq-20 unless someone has other ideas.

Re: Masami replica buildup
we're they even out in 87-88? the 2.1 losi stagger ribs have a much taller sidewall, unlike the ones in the pics.
i'm 99.9% sure that they're the crp tires i have. they're also the same ones masami used on his australian "stealth" car.

Re: Masami replica buildup
Didn't Schumacher also have a two inch stagger bar tire around that time period? The sidewall certainly looks like a 2.0 crammed on a 2.1 wheel. I understand thinking the tire is spiked, blurred due to rotation, but the wheel is not...
Just tossing out ideas.

Re: Masami replica buildup
good point. but the right rim doesn't look like it's spinning either, and that tire looks just as blurry as the rears......... to me.templeofspeed wrote:I understand thinking the tire is spiked, blurred due to rotation, but the wheel is not...
maybe after i have my eye surgery tomorrow i'll be able to see them better.
