Tub chassis painting prep help needed!!!!!!!
I finally got up the nerve to strip the annodizing off some runner/liteweight racer chassis.Their clean but scratches usual places an some misguided drilled holes im gonna fill in.What grit sandpaper do i need to get out the ruff and sharp edges with and the grit for final prep to prime.Then what grit to prep primer surface to adhear the paint to.Was thinkin of getn them airbrushed too.thanks DON

if you are going to run it i would just polish it i messed around with fill and paint good for a shelve but waste of time for a runner

Start with 280 or 320 grit to get things smoothed out a bit, then use 400 to prep for painting. You may have a hard time with the anodizing though.
I tryed sanding one down using a DA sander and it still was not working well.
I ended up bead blasting the anodizing off in order to prep them for paint.

i run my powder coated ds in the street and i think it scratchs more than an of road car . when i was prepping for powder i used 120 then went to 180
the 120s wore out fast and the 180s put a nice key down but each to there own . good luck and post some pics of the pan maybe in the before and after

I went the easy off way,took two trys and its all off but best to wipe away before starts to dry or turns alluminum black and haft to reapply easyoff again.Yellow cap ea
syoff only one that works.Don
