Making a gold tub race ready
Hey guys, I'm new here and after seeing others builds, I wish to make my A chassis into a racer. I would like to know what I need to compete with b4's and where to get parts and also your opinions. I have a lot of original parts that I am willing to sell later on.
Or do you think this is even a good idea. Would it be better for me to sell the good body for money and buy a b4 or something else. I will get pics up later today hopefully.

Welcome to the board.
You can build a competitive old school RC-10 with minor upgrades. Most important investment in my opinion would be tires and motor.
There is an active discussion on the RC-10 vs B4 going on as we speak.

You can also get some cool upgrade ideas from the "What's old is new tech thread "

Good luck.

Thanks for the help. I will post pics of the result eventually, but it may take me a while due to money. I plan to work on this mostly over the summer for that is when I will have a job.

1. Find a stealth tranny to run in it
2. Convert it to run the wide track arms, like what is on the CE and Team Car.
3. Use this setup: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=6600&p=63133&hilit=mark+westerfield%27s#p63133

Re: Making a gold tub race ready
my 2 cents is
do you want to race bash or build
thems the three main categorys
me i like to build and bash
if you just want a lot racer then i would get a used b4 and learn how to fix something you can get spares for
ive seen quiet a few people start with rc10 6 gear and before you know it you cant pass a key board without checking ebay and the bst for those cant find must haves so know what you want the car to do before putting money into something that belongs on a shef
