battery question

What are the best ni-mh packs to use these days? I heard venom packs are garbage, but every time I'm at the hobby shop the guy is trying to sell me a venom.

Venom are fine in my experience, or vapextech or tornado

im sure there are bad venom packs, but for the price they work just fine.

I've learned that you get what you pay for. Spend just a little more and be happier down the road. There is a limit though, don't buy crazy money packs if you aren't planning on racing on a high level. I always find the middle of the road pack...lower mah rating but better brand reputation works for me.

I have heard that the Duratrax packs work well for people on a budget. I have had good experiences with SMC but I am not sure if they offer NiMH packs or not.

Venom seems to be the brand of choice to either love or hate.
