Re: Post your totally custom builds
Well I have something that may qualify. I have a family member that bought a Tamiya Terra Crusher (Monster Truck with the heaviest R/C tires ever made) and drove it for a while but had problems with the Transmission (forward / reverse) and he was not too good at keeping a tune on a Nitro Motor. So I bought an TC on Ebay, and converted it to Electric - using a donor Traxxas E-maxx Transmission.
Tranny was built with new gears, lightweight parts, diffs were flipped, old 1/4 scale servo was replaced with a Hitec MG servo (with more power and speed), 40 series Proline Tires and Wheels that weigh 1/4 of what the originals weighed. Turned down the output shaft of the Tranny to fit the Tamiya Universals. Finally after everything its still 26 oz less than the Nitro Version - and quite a bit quicker.
Update: Forgot to post, I do not have pics of it now, but it has been converted to the Tamiya Pivot Ball suspension, MIP CVDs, the Original Proline Powerstroke shocks (as seen on the TNX Pro, not the newly released ones) And a 6.5 Novak Brushless system with G-maxx / FLM single speed conversion.
Thank you for looking, if anyone needs any info about the conversion, please feel free to PM me.
