Good resource for the TA/DF chassis types http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?s=a3311575c2eb97f4e5bce906c66ff778&showtopic=61592&st=0&p=408931&#entry408931

And this is a pretty sick Top Force and Beyond build:http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=31350

A good TA/DF hopped up build:http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=85254&sid=20319

Sorry all my links are for TC, there are plenty on these forums too.

Do the dyna storm and top force have anything in common?
Ifso Nimrod Racing has some nice parts, but expensive (prettty hight tech stuff and exclusive materials are not cheap)

I have a slightly modded Top Force.

It has different shocks, Losi Springs, Saddel pack Li Po's, Brushless set up. Alloy Front hub carriers ( not in the pic). Standard front Shock Tower ( Which is taller then the Evo) Standard rear shock tower with different roll center ( Same as the Evo). Uni's all round.

I had a EVO runner but sold it before I was really into vintage. With a few mods these are very fast 4wd's.

No, they are very different chassis.

If you want cheap and good alloy parts for the Top Force, go with GPM (at http://www.asiatees.com). The DF-01 uses the same gearboxes, c-hubs, chassis, and uprights as the TA-01. Useful options are the alloy front gearbox bottom (prevents breakage of the suspension mounts), ball-bearing steering & c-hubs, front and rear uprights.
The Tamiya alloy motor mount is best, but very hard to find. GPM has two versions, but one rather limits the gearing options on a buggy - check Tamiyaclub's forums to figure out which one you need.

Alloy wheel hexes are also a good idea - the stock plastic ones melt in hot weather. However, use ones made by Tamiya. I've found the GPM ones fit badly.

FibreLyte make some nice carbon shock towers that will break less fast than the original ones, and they also have CF chassis plates.

If you want to build a tank (metal parts) here is the link :)

http://www.rcmart.com/yeah-racing-df01combo-aluminum-combo-df01-p-27670.html?cPath=595_744_1476

Then you can send to me all the plastic you've replaced. I need the front and rear arms

The more I see these buggies, the more I want one! One day. Some great examples in this thread.

Mad racer, do you have pics to share without the body.
What mods are the best to get if I`m planning to use an 10,5 motor.

Here is what I have. The one with the red parts are 100% built but never been used. The black one is little used and in superb condition.
I have an NIB body set.

I've heard bad things about the Yeah Racing parts, apparently the aluminium they used is rather soft. Furthermore, that kit is for the TA01/TA02 touring cars not the DF-01 buggy. The suspension arms are too short and the shock towers the wrong design.

I do have a pic some where with no shell on. I will look for it. If not will take another one.

Best mods. You can ask 20 different guys and you will get 20 different opinions. For me I like the Yeah Racing shocks as they fit Losi springs that I use. I drill the pistons out that's all.. Bearings of course, The TA Touring car gear set is cheap and really helps to get the gearing better & gets rid of that alloy center idler gear. A Alloy motor mount as metioned is a must. Again I use the Yeah racing ones with no problems.

Coverting the battery to sadel packs helps a little in quick change of directions. I did a roll center change on the rear shock tower which helped the rear end to stay planted. The Evo tower has it. This Top Force was built out of my spares that I had. I did spend another $100 or so to finish it off. I have enough spares put aside for another build when I decide too.

If it was me Jerzi I would use the slightly used Top Force. They are starting to climb in price now. Even more so since the Blazing Star ( Manta Ray with a differnt Body set) has been discontinued.

Sooooo If ireg wants a set of arms I have a few sets I can spare. Just pay postage!!!!

I have enough spares for myself so if I can help I will. Send me your address ireg.

The Top Force is the most easy 4wd buggy I have ever worked on. Very few gears in the drive train and very smooth to drive. With a few mods it is well & truly on par to any other 4wd I have driven & thats alot

Here is mine naked LOL.

No need to get short li po. Li Po sadels fit fine. I made up the battery hold downs out of some fiberglass plate & Yeah racing battery posts.. Fitted with a 9t EZ run & touring car gear set.

This may be a dumb question but is there a fiberglass chassy conversion that would fit onto my Tamiya Hummer? My hummer running gear looks very similar to these cars.
